Quick Thought – So why the discord, Progressives, about Constitutional Originalism for the 14th but…

14th Amendment, Section I (yes, there are several parts):

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Yep, the liberal punditry, the Progressive activists, the Open Borders buffoons, and the “we need their votes!” Democrat Partyistas are all up in arms and colored smoke from exploding heads is wafting in the air.  Steve, with his post “Why Is Mr. Trump Suggesting an Executive Order on Birthright Citizenship Now?” brings up a few points.  Let me add to that:

Why is it that Progressives are insisting on an exact reading of the 14th but refuse to do so for the 1st or the 2nd?

It is rather simple, dontcha know – one thing they want and multiple things they don’t.  They essentially want Open Borders, they don’t want Free Speech (HATE SPEECH – SHUT UP!!) or Freedom of Religion (Obama’s denigration by using “freedom of worship”) or wish to ignore that pesky “…shall not be infringed”.  Noosirree bob – have to stick to the Narrative and boy, we’d better keep making sure that the Constitution lives to according to what we say it does rather than the stated legal document it is.

It’s all about Power – and they want the Power so as to keep it from you.  Democrats / Socialists don’t believe, contra our Founders, that you don’t deserve to make choices yourself for yourself because you don’t have the ability to correctly choose (e.g., anything they don’t agree with).

It’s all about the Power – and if illegal aliens are judged to not be subject to that phrase “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” because, as Steve pointed out, they have other allegiances other than to America, then a whole system of theirs blows up right in their faces.

Then imagine how many heads would be exploding!
