Over the years I’ve commented on how eerily linked DC and Concord political legislation, actions, and events seem to be.  What happens in DC then gets transported to here in Concord.  Elections, similar.  Legislation (especially from the Left), similar. And then Grokster Mike told us during GrokTALK! this past Saturday of this just simply obnoxious news that what happened here in Concord with Democrat appointed Speaker of the House Jasper, we see Democrats in the US House willing to prop up Speaker Boehner in light that the Republicans’ Hastert Rule is now demolished:

Has this ever happened before in the history of the House of Representatives? A profoundly ineffective Speaker, a Speaker so weak that he has to depend on Democrat votes to pass legislation, is given assurances by the opposition party that they will protect him against his own caucus? Via The Hill:

Yes, we DID talk about former NH GOP Exec Dir Matt Mowers on GrokTALK! this past Saturday at Liberty Forum.  And now that he is “Governor Chris Christie’s Campaign boy Matt Mowers” (as Steve called him), he seemingly wishes to be buddy – buddy with your’s truly.  After call after call, post after post, of asking him to contact me over the problematic situation of the NH GOP Delegates amending the Platform and then the NH GOP Staff not updating those changes until after the November election (the Elites were embarrassed that the base holds views they think are “icky” – or showed that the top two candidates on the ticket were out of sequence with their own base and then promptly lost anyways).

Why?  Let me count the single largeish way and not let it be “water under the bridge” in a matter of speaking:

I haven’t put one of these types of letters up for a bit but given the wretched results (again, we no longer listen to the words, only care about real results!) we are seeing from the Republican majorities in both Concord and DC, I expect to see more and more of this; from the Daily Signal:

The last paragraph quoting Rep. Tim Huelskamp hits the nail on the head. The big Republican donors got their cheap labor.

“The biggest donors to the Republican establishment, they all are happy today. They got their amnesty,” Huelskamp said. “They just hope the issue goes away and somehow they think conservatives are still going to show up and vote for whoever the presidential nominee is.”

I can almost guarantee that conservatives will not show up and vote for whoever the Republican nominee is because we don’t see a difference between what I call “Republican elite” and Democrats.

Intolerant is the word (back story here) – believe as we say or retribution will come pretty much sums up the story of Brendan Eich who lost the CEO position at Mozilla / Firefox simply because he gave a donation years earlier to a pro-traditional marriage group during California’s Prop 8.  Thus, upon seeing this news seemed like proper Karma:

Mozilla’s Firefox is in danger of making the endangered species list for browsers.

…In the last 12 months, Firefox’s user share — an estimate of the portion of all those who reach the Internet via a desktop browser — has plummeted by 34%. Since Firefox crested at 25.1% in April 2010, Firefox has lost 13.5 percentage points, or 54% of its peak share.

At Firefox’s 12-month average rate of decline, Mozilla’s desktop browser will slip under the 10% bar in June, joining other third-tier applications like Apple’s Safari (with just a 4.8% user share in February) and Opera Software’s Opera (1.1%). If the trend continues, Firefox on the desktop could drop below 8% as soon as October.

Thanks Majority Leader Jack Flanagan for siding against the majority of your Party’s members in the NH House and voting with the Democrats.

I just heard about this bill late this afternoon – our Legislature, led by the Democrat appointed Speaker of the House Jasper and his Jaspercrats joined with pretty much all the Democrats to prohibit minors from using a tanning bed.  Once again, sticking their noses into a place where they really shouldn’t.  But, then again, that’s what Progressives do (from both Parties):

AN ACT prohibiting tanning facilities from tanning persons under 18 years of age.

ANALYSIS: This bill makes it unlawful for a person under the age of 18 to use a tanning device at a registered tanning facility in this state.

Deja vu all over again; I thought he might have learned from his involuntary pause in Congressional employment (due in no small measure to his failure to keep his promise to his supporters to do EVERYthing he could to cut Federal Government spending – and then promptly voted for two successful Continuing Resolutions that HIKED spending), but I guess not.  Advance to the NOW – the Main Responsibility of anyone one elected to Congress is:

 I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

So, did he do so, support, defend, bear truth faith, and allegiance?  Ok, can we just try defend – with his vote?

The totalitarians-in-training at Clemson University are calling for stripping everyone on campus of their First Amendment rights, making sure no one can voice opposing viewpoints they may find offensive, or worse, true.

What shocked the Clemson community was the professors’ support of the students’ first demand, which called on the university “to prosecute criminally predatory behaviors and defamatory speech committed by members of the Clemson University community (including, but not limited to, those facilitated by usage of social media).”

Unfortunately this idea is not restricted to Clemson alone. There are plenty of colleges and universities where the same push to censor free speech reside. I remember having a conversation with a college student on the campus of the University of New Hampshire a few of years ago. He was protesting the freedom of people to voice opinions that he found to be “hate speech” and “contrary to progressive beliefs” and a bunch of other such drivel.

And thanks to IRS Commissioner Koskonin (you know, the Obama hack that kept on insisting that the Lois Lerner emails were gone, got all indignant when challenged on it, and remains indignant when shown they existed all along), we have a perfect example of the Washington Monument Syndrome (whereby when not getting all they want of taxpayer monies, they decide to take their peevishness out on said taxpayers – e.g., they close down the most famous tourist spot in DC: the Washington Monument):

Here’s a letter to the D.C.-based WTOP Radio:

You report that the IRS is cutting back on “customer service.”  Pleading poverty because of the budget cuts it must endure as a result of Congressional displeasure with its recent mistreatment of many of its ‘customers,’ the IRS moans that it simply has too few resources now to adequately man its customer-service phone lines.  The IRS’s message to its ‘customers’ is clear: tell your representatives to increase our funding or we’ll make your lives even more miserable than we already do.
