They threw feces at us, banging on the door for the driver to open it, spat on the glass. My question is- for what purpose? How do they want to assimilate in Germany? For a moment, i felt like in a warzone. I really feel sorry for these people, but if they would reach Poland – I do not think they would receive any understanding from us.

The current Law:

1. A legal FFL (e.g. gun shop) must have all buyers fill out a Form 4473 which asks if that person is legally able to purchase the firearm. If a purchaser marks that they are a prohibited person, the FFL is not to sell the firearm under Federal Penalty of REALLY REALLY bad outcomes.
2. A legal FFL must also put the buyer through the Federal NICS system which is supposed to tell the seller if the purchaser is ineligible to do so.  Yes, consider “screwed” to the FFL to continue the sal.
3. A private seller, under Federal penalty, cannot sell to someone that they know is ineligible to legally posses a firearm – up to 10 years in the klink if you do so.

So, what does Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) do?  In the light of the recent murder of Gov. Cuomo (D-NY)’s lawyer at a NYC festival, he decides to create a bill that:

• Makes it illegal for an FFL to knowingly sell a firearm to a prohibited person
• Make it illegal for a private citizen to sell a firearm to a prohibited person

You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home [not shown]. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel. By Southern California standards, someone owning 100,000 rounds is considered “mentally unstable.”

• In Arizona, he’d be called “an avid gun collector.”
• In Arkansas, he’d be called “a novice gun collector.”
• In Utah, he’d be called “moderately well prepared,” but they’d probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.”

The immigrants were upset about their living conditions and the failure of authorities to issue residence permits. Immigrants in Veneto refused to eat the pasta provided by local officials. They wanted to be fed food from their home countries. They [sic] immigrants then slashed the staff workers’ tires.

Just a “thank you for your assistance”, eh? Sounds just like some of the illegal immigrants here in the US – they come unasked, get upset when they are not serviced according to THEIR standards (as opposed to what the country that is being invaded can do).  It is that “to be fed food from their home countries” as opposed to the native foods of their host country (and here, DEMAND citizenship to which they are not entitled – they don’t want to EARN it, just have it given to them…something about a Right or somesuch).

The news came out today that President Obama did a partial end run (AHgain!) around Congress by issuing yet another Executive Order – and yet again poking Government’s nose, not under but through the tent wall of the private sector.  In this case, telling Federal contractors that they WILL be paying employees for paid sick leave.  Of course, the hit was on the GOP was on not getting on board with this yet another fascist / socialist trend of Government controlling private companies.  This struck me from our Labor Secretary in praising the Order and taunting the GOP:

That from ‘Grok friend Jim Hoft.  I would think that the Establishment Republicans would be ecstatic over that stat given all of the verbiage they have spilled the last few years on “reaching out to the minority communities”.  So, what should one be thinking when we hear that but ALSO now hearing that those same folks are trying to strategize on how to railroad Trump out of the race?  Again, I point this out not to bolster Trump but to point out the absolute hypocriticalness of the entrenched Central Command whose strategy of flooding the zone with folks to get their candidate elected (Jeb Bush whose seemingly failing ways are seeing a shift to Kasich?) along with the Papa Smurf Sununu rigged rules for the convention and nomination was supposed to “fix” the result.  And then along came Donald Trump, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina and a handful of “outside the beltway” Rs to, as I have said from time to time, throw “sand into the gearworks”.

Writing in yesterday’s Washington Post, the great law and econ scholar Fred McChesney – who is also an historian of firefighting – asks why is the number of firefighters growing while the number of fires is shrinking.  (Hint: public-sector labor unions here, as elsewhere, successfully seek rents.)   A slice:

I had forgotten about this until I read Chan’s “Thoughts on a Sunday” last night who talked about it:

It’s bad enough California’s legislature has already done considerable damage to the state’s economy. Now they want to make it even worse by giving power to the California Air Resources Board to ration gasoline and diesel fuel as a means of reducing air pollution.

Yeah, the same crew that have all but eliminated wood burning stoves, wanted to ban gas powered lawnmowers, and shut down your outside grills.  Their aim is to have 100% “clean air” no matter what the cost or the impact on the State’s residents.  It is ONLY the mission that counts with these folks…

To quote Squidward, “Just when I thought they couldn’t get any stupider…”

To meet the mandate, the state air resources board will be able to ration gas, place mobility restrictions on state residents, place surcharges on family mini-vans, trucks and SUVs, and even monitor individuals’ fuel consumption records. 

Think about what that means to what we call “the Land of the Free”.
