The NH commission on offshore wind meeting, before the federal BOEM takes over our Gulf of Maine, was inexplicably canceled when its chair, Sen. Watters, got wind, pun intended, that fishermen and concerned citizens would show up to voice their concerns.
Maine is getting colder. It’s a fact. There’s been no warming in the past decade. They’ve recently experienced record-setting cold, which won’t help the trend, but hey, stop that. Warming! Look at the Gulf of Maine!
Despite the collapse of the market, rising costs and prices, and the threat to wildlife, the powers that be are moving forward with offshore wind development off the coast of New Hampshire and Maine.
First, let me say that this is not a decision for an unelected body. This is a decision to be made by the citizens of the state of Maine in a state-wide referendum.
