The Biden Administration is in a mad rush to get offshore wind leases sold just in case Klimate Kamala blows it, loses in November, and the violent uprisings that would follow that don’t result in a change they can believe in.

BOEM, the Bureau of Ocean and Energy Management, has announced the sale of leases in the Gulf of Maine.

We’ve been sharing news and opinion in opposition to this all year. There is a significant local objection, but the commission appears driven by development without regard to the risk to Whales, dolphins, seals, and sea life. Lobstermen, fishermen, boaters, and rank-and-file citizens have asked that they slow down.

Offshore wind projects have been dropping like flies along the eastern seaboard, while high-profile whale deaths and turbine failures have heightened awareness of the risk to humans. fiberglass and microplastics as well as toxic materials used in fabrication and deployment that can end up i the food supply.

Full steam ahead. The lease sale is scheduled. The Feds are committed to moving this forward. If you’re interested in taking a page from the enviros, the threat of endless lawsuits and making development as difficult and expensive as possible might be enough of a disincentive in an already unfriendly economic climate to make the project untenable.

The farms that failed were the result of costs that could not be recouped becasue of rate hikes that were so high even Dem politicians couldn’t make excuses.

We need to slow this process down. They are hiding the risk, which means it is likely worse than we know.

The New England Fishermen’s Stewardship Association is working to protect the oeans od the North East. Here’s a recent video they put together from their flotilla to the busted turbine that has plagued the beaches of Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and neighboring coastlines.
