The attacks on free speech are so prevalent it’s worth ranking as the top news story of the year. Free speech is so throttled; little that is covered is actually news. Worse yet, so much of what is news is getting written off as a “conspiracy theory.” We are at the most dangerous time for news and by extension free speech perhaps in the history of America.
Let’s look at a few of the non-news stories. Let’s start with the mutating lockdowns. So, why it is OK for grocery store workers to remain on the job during an international pandemic? Why is it okay that they serve the needs of the entire population with no restrictions? Other than wearing a mask… Insert the effectiveness of mask discussion here. This was ignorant, and remains as ignorant as it is unreported and not debated…
At the same time it is considered dangerous for gyms to open. Gyms where your chance of getting the virus has been studied and quantified as 0.00023%. And it is considered dangerous for anyone, other than governor’s spouses to take their boat for a quick spin around the lake… say what?
It seems like the lockdown can turn into whatever is convenient for politicians. How are we calling this anything but a political virus? It is causing educated reasonably intelligent people to become afraid and to abandon all logic. We are becoming sheeple…
That’s why this is the political virus. It kills liberty. It renders constitutions meaningless. It makes tyrants out of Leftists nationwide. It is a convenient emergency. It is easily expandable and extendable. No facts need actually be used in decision making. Fear is all that is required to accrete power to those in a position to accept it. All that seems to matter is that you do what the governor says when he says it because he says it. That’s fair… right?
The uneven effects of the lockdown have resulted in the shift of trillions of dollars. It has moved in ways that will reshape the economy for generations to come. We are not supposed to know about it. We are not allowed to talk about it. This… is the new normal? I don’t think so. This is the theft of Western civilization.
And then there was hydroxychloroquine. Remember that? The drug has been around for decades. It is safe, effective, and cheap. But for most people before the political virus struck, if you knew anything about this drug, it was probably that some guy in Arizona died after drinking it… maybe President Trump was somehow responsible.
Well, the thing is the guy in Arizona didn’t take hydroxychloroquine. What he did was eat a fish tank cleaner called chloroquine phosphate. Trump never told anyone to take either the drug or the fish-tank cleaner. He simply said hydroxychloroquine was a promising treatment against the virus.
As soon as he said it, radical academic leftists controlling medical journals and associations began warning. Hydroxychloroquine had no benefit as a treatment. It was potentially dangerous. This was even though it had been safely used against malaria and various immune deficiency syndromes for decades. Trump did wind up taking it himself.
Fortunately, many doctors familiar with the drug continued to use it as a therapy in the early stages of COVID infections. Many patients have been spared the worst effects of the virus as a result. Just don’t expect to read or hear about that… or ivermectin or UV light… just look it up.
Trump created a vaccine victory even while being painted as anti-science. It was his administration’s support that allowed the fastest turnaround ever from viral discovery to a viral vaccine. Maybe that’s anti-science… but it has never been done in less than a year before.
The thank you? House Democrats are launching investigations into Trump’s supposed crimes against humanity. His crime? Being president during the virus. The fact: lives are being saved as a result of his policies and the actions stemming from them.
So what have you heard about Hunter Biden’s laptop? Probably not much. Though the story has been around for going on two years. It has been amazing, the Left’s ability to bury the Hunter Biden story throughout the 2020 presidential campaign. Social media banned the story. They even refused major print media access to their accounts if they attempted to report on it.
This feat ranks as one of the greatest victories in the history of propaganda. Hunter is the son of former Vice President Joe Biden. He has a known history as a drug addict with all the attendant tribulations. His personal history is now considered his strong suit… sad as that may be.
The Senate Homeland Security Committee found extensive evidence. Hunter has made many millions of dollars for the Biden family. What was the source of the funds? Why, selling access to his father. So Hunter’s laptop turning up with first-person incriminating evidence… well you might have thought it would be news. It was pretty obvious… Joe Biden had a lot for which to answer. As a candidate for president did he answer? Was he asked? How is that even possible?
The media never made him answer for anything. It preferred to rest on the bizarre assertion from 50 former U.S. intelligence officials. They claimed clear evidence of foreign collusion on Hunter’s laptop… It was not what it purported to be. It had all the earmarks of a “Russian disinformation” campaign they said.
Nothing to see here… This was utter nonsense. Whatever happened to reporters reading and investigating the emails? Where did all the reporting go? Are we left with only propaganda…? Government bureaucrats say it and it is so… it is gospel… no investigation needed… because these bureaucrats said so… really?
And finally, we had a coronation… er… an election… and there was election fraud. It may be this election is the greatest deception in American history. More than half of America knows in the pit of their stomach we have witnessed the hijacking of a presidential election. It is being done through means both legal and illegal.
Every state that changed its election procedures without the consent of its legislature violated the U.S. Constitution. No court has seen fit to hear the case on its merits. They have declined on procedural grounds. There will be a challenge to the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Who won is not the point. We either have the rule of law and we follow the Constitution or we don’t. The fact that Trump increased his support in almost every demographic since 2016 and yet lost the election will apparently remain a mystery. Biden campaigned from his basement and got fifteen million more votes than Obama did on his best day… just an anomaly… Biden did not get 90% of the minority vote… nothing to see here.
This is 2020. There is plenty of suppression to go around. Here are some of the other stories suppressed in 2020: The communist links to Antifa and Black Lives Matter. The Russian hoax was exposed but left unpunished. Governor Cuomo’s policies in New York led to thousands of COVID deaths in nursing homes… hooray? George Soros successful campaign to subvert the American justice system by electing pro-criminal district attorneys. The suppression of news itself where media and Big Tech get equal plaudits.
