Obama Couldn’t Run A Lemonade Stand (Nor could a NH Democrat) And Here’s Why?

Obama Couldn't run a lemonade StandWhen the economy got rough my employer had to cut back staffing.  By the time they were done we had dropped about 70% of our staff, down to the bare minimum needed to operate each department.   We kept the best people and asked them to do a lot more for the same money, and sometimes less. We went to smaller quarters.  We re-thought everything.  We looked for fat and cut it.  We analyzed how we did things when we were busy and a bit lazy and got into shape.

As it turns out, there were better, faster, and more efficient ways to get the same things done with fewer people, while spending less money.  We needed to do that, we did it, and we are surviving.  And if ever it comes time to grow again, then we’ll expand with more care and efficiency than before.

If we apply the way Democrats approach Government to business (our lemonade stand) it is the exact opposite.

Late in the 2007 session, when Democrats controlled the the entire New Hampshire State Government for the first time in 95 years,  then House Speaker Terri “Billion Dollar Deficit’ Norelli and Senate President Sylvia Larsen, figured the beginning of a recession was a great time to add a $72,000.00 bathroom remodel on to the backs … Read more

Obama Fail Spotlight: I Will Go Line By Line to Remove Wasteful Earmarks…

If you missed this post, there is a link to a blog that is compiling 1001 reasons to vote against Obama. There are at least 600 reasons so far.  But as I reviewed the first 100, which I included in my linked post, I came across a classic Obamaism that deserved special attention.

The promise to go line by line through legislation before signing it, to remove wasteful earmarks.  Of course his first major piece of spending legislation was the stimulus, and what wasn’t for public sector union bailouts was wasteful earmarks.

So Mr. Obama was either lying or he is not very good at reading legislation (A common problem for Democrats, or so I hear).

“Candidate Barack Obama publicly promises to go “line by line” through legislation to remove wasteful earmarks.”

  • Obama stimulus gave $200,000 to teach Siberian lawmakers how to engage Russian policy makers in Moscow.
  • Stimulus funding of $250,000 went to bug storage for an insect museum at North Carolina State University that gets 44 visitors a year.
  • Gave $500,000 to put microchips in recycling bins to check up on the recycling efforts of senior citizens.
  • $5 million to create a geothermal energy system for the Oak Ridge City Center shopping mall in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
  • $9.38 million to renovate a century-old train depot in Lancaster County, Pa., that has not been used for three decades.

“…to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day–“

As I consider the long string of abuses by the Obama government, the lobbyists, the gun running, the massive debt, the lack of transparency, the lack of a realistic Budget for three years (a Democrat Senate that wont propose or pass any budget), and the most recent abuses exposed at the GSA and the Secret Service … Read more

GSA, Clowns, Mindreaders and Sushi

“I used to look down on the world for being corrupt, but now I adore it for the utter magnificence of that corruption.”  —Richard J. Needham

You cannot make this stuff up. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Released a  16-page report detailing the gross abuse and excesses in the use of taxpayer monies of the Obama Administration GSA Officials. Nothing says Hackarama like an expensive opulent junket like this. The report was released yesterday by the OIG.

In October of 2010, The U.S. Government Services Administration spent over $835,000 on a four-day “training” conference for 300 GSA employees…held at a luxury hotel outside Las Vegas.

Another NH State Employee Wasting Your Time And Money?

Have you been following the tragic tale? It’s a dog bites man story.  State agency appears to have an IT policy it can’t or wont enforce, the result of which is that people who blog for a hobby are the only ones with any hope of keeping public employees from wasting your time and tax … Read more

Roll Call-palooza – Another Democrat Taxpayer Swindle

New Hampshire Democrats, who benefit from taxpayer money laundered through public employee union dues into their campaign, are spending taxpayer dollars in the legislature to make sure they have sound bites and talking points to give to their union buddies to ensure the Aztec gold continues to flow moving forward.

Money Not So Well Spent

Dr. Edward Larkin gave a pair of women at the Milford Market Basket More for their Dollar last November when he approached them in the Supermarket parking lot with his “franks and beans” exposed. It turned out to be an unadvertised special, but one that New Hampshire taxpayers continue to pay for. The UNH professor, placed on leave after the incident, is still on the University payroll, collecting $87,375 per year while we wait for the bureaucracy to remember how it is exactly that you fire a State university professor doing nothing on the taxpayer dole.

Can You See The Signs?

The Shahodesheaporter New Hampshicrat trio gave us the stimulus, all the waste and crony handouts buried inside it, the stupid rules that knee-capped job regular creation as only bureaucracy can, and the debt. Oh yeah–they spent 20 million on signs to tell us they were spending billions on…nothing.

Waste

I got a letter today from the US Census.  As a joke, I mockingly said to my wife, "I bet this is a letter telling me about how I’m going to be getting a letter." She laughed. That’s exactly what it was.   Dear Resident: About one week from now. you will receive a 2010 … Read more
