New Hampshire Democrats have a love-hate relationship with property taxes. They love taxes and taxing property, but they hate it when property taxes are the primary source of revenue and the total tax burden is incredibly low.

There’s Plenty Wrong with Brattleboro, Vermont Allowing 16 and 17 Year Olds to Vote
Democrats in the Vermont legislature overrode a veto by Gov Scott, allowing 16 and 17-year-olds in Brattleboro, Vermont, to vote in local elections. My first question is, why are you discriminating against 13-15-year-olds?
NH-House GOP … So Totally Out Of Touch … Which Is Why They’ll Be A Numerical Minority Come 2024
The “leaders” of the NH-House GOP apparently believe that the voters in New Hampshire are Koch-bots, that their most important issue is cutting business taxes. Stated slightly differently, it’s as if the goal of these “leaders” is not winning elections and gaining actual voting-control of the House, but rather getting a pat on the head … Read more
Our National Self-Sorting is Having a Serious Financial Impact on Blue States
It’s clear from both U-Haul rentals and IRS data that high-income folks, having their selfish self-interest tickled by Blue State taxes, are moving to low-tax (that would be Republican) states – and taking their money with them—big Time.
California’s Million Dollar Conundrum
California, The Golden State, symbolized the spirit and curiosity of America for decades. California was the American dream. California now exemplifies much of what is wrong with America, and how it is declining could be a harbinger of America’s future.
Mayor Donchess is “Shoveling Bull to The Nashua Taxpayers”
It was very upsetting to read about Mayor Donchess being bullish on Nashua’s future. In reality, the Mayor is shoveling bull to the Nashua taxpayers.
New Boston Democrat Selectman/School Board Chair Hasn’t Paid Their Property Taxes
Paying your taxes is patriotic. I think I’ve heard that somewhere. But Democrat Kary Jencks, who just squeaked out a win in a selectman’s race in New Boston, isn’t. Their last property tax bill is three-plus months late and now includes interest due and a late fee.
How Long After Vermont Passes Suicide Tourism Will it Tax The Practice?
If you pay attention to Democrat majorities, it won’t take long to realize something. There’s never enough revenue – no such thing as enough. Every stream shall be tapped, which got me thinking. Vermont doesn’t currently tax medical services, but it is about to pass suicide tourism.

NH v. VT – A Tale of Two Political Cultures One Red and One Blue
Vermont’s legislature is working out the final details of Gov. Scott’s proposed 8.4 Billion dollar budget. Eight billion. That’s over 12,957.00 dollars for every man, woman, and child in the state. Guess how much New Hampshire’s is?
What Kind of Parent?
There’s a question that should be asked more often, which gets at the moral foundations of treating education as an entitlement. Suppose you own several properties in a town. You have two kids, who are being schooled at the expense of the town, which costs the town more than $500,000 over the course of two … Read more

The IRS (THEIRS) has rules for everything, including your legal obligation to report property you have stolen as taxable income. Yes, you read that right. Thieves are required to report the fair market value of what they pilfer.
Belknap County Delegation – “We’re suffering the consequences of inexperience in county delegation”
At a recent meeting of the Tri-County Republicans, I learned that if Harry Bean, a State Representative from Gilford and Chair of the Belknap County Delegation, does not post three public meetings for the delegation (state reps from Belknap County), taxpayers are in danger of a 35% increase in county taxes.
Belknap County Delegation – Chair Harry Bean Leads Republicans to Vote to Raise your County Taxes by 35.4%
Yep, that’s right. Instead of doing the right things by the right process (e.g., not properly noticing the Budget meetings, not making the proper motions, seconds, and votes on changing line item amounts, trying to circumvent NH’s Right To Know Law) that tainted / despoiled their work (look what happens when you try to cut … Read more
South Carolina’s Proposed ‘Yankee Tax’ Looks Hinkey to Me …
Republicans in South Carolina (SC) have proposed a bill that adds $250.00 to the cost of vehicle registrations for people who move to the state. They claim it is meant to cover infrastructure costs (wear and tear), but I’m calling BS.
Our Education System is a Failed State
Our education system is costing more and producing less every year. In my small town, the Tax Rate is $24.75 / thousand, with Education accounting for $18.00. That is 73% of every tax dollar earmarked for schools giving us lower test scores yearly.
So Kids, What Did We Learn From Tuesday’s House Session (02/14/23)?
We learned that attendance is everything this term. You can’t win if you don’t have the numbers. All eyes are on the whip! We learned that the Speaker of the House voted more today than he did in total in the past 2 years! There’s probably a Speaker vote record being made!
