Democrats virtue signal about everything. And very little, if anything, they promise, does what they say. Banning plastic is a good example. The claim is that this will be better for the environment. What they don’t tell you is that the alternatives to plastic are worse.

New Hampshire’s House Democrats passed a bill that would make it a crime to hand out a plastic straw. Policing, the new restriction had a starting cost of $93,000.00 per year.
As New Hampshire’s Lefty-Majority pushes to inconvenience everyone to satisfy their environmental virtue-signaling insecurities, Oklahoma is protecting small-business and consumer choice. Gov. Kevin Stitt just signed a bill that prohibits towns from bans or fees for single-use plastics.
The Democrats Single-Use Plastics ban bill I wrote about in January was too much too soon so it was retained in committee. But fear not ignorant consumers. The Democrats have backups. Including a Bill to “protect you” from the dangers of single-use plastic Drinking straws.
Durham NH fearmonger Judith Spang wants the legislature to allow towns like Durham and Portsmouth to ban plastic drinking straws or bags. Any town that wants to, actually. HB102 would add “the distribution of single-use plastics to consumers” to the list of things towns can regulate without deferring to the Legislature.
