The Secret to Sustainable One-World Government is …Local Control?

The UN’s Sustainable (everything) Initiatives are several of many globalist one-world-government efforts. Like Climate change, they exist to redistribute wealth (and power) created by evil capitalism while poisoning it’s well. Think Regional Planning Commissions (RPC’s) who are local but think global. They pretend the priorities are yours, but they are actually regional governors imposing global ruling class … Read more

There is More than One Price to Pay for Letting Democrats back into Power

Democrats have made no secret of their plans to raise taxes. Left-wing leaders at both the Federal and State level are running on erasing tax reform. Here in New Hampshire, candidates for Governor and State Senator as well as other state elected offices are looking to roll back tax cuts on job creators even though the state has experienced record high employment and labor force participation.

All at a time when the evidence suggests that people with the most mobility are migrating to states with lower tax burdens.

About that “Free Money” From Washington…

You’ve heard it time and again. Some state or local official promotes a project or a legisaltive initiative because there’s a federal grant available. These sorts of  “thinkers” will often implement long-term programs at great expense based on promises of “free money.” The Federal government is paying X percent of costs for Y number of years.

How can we pass that up?

NH Progressive Senators on school nurses- “local control is fine” (but only as long as you agree with us!)

Schoolhouse State Senate refuses to roll back school nurse requirements

NH State Senator Woodburn basically just said exactly that about who controls the standards for school nurses:

“We need to have school nurses who are on top of the details and know what’s going on,” said Sen. Jeff Woodburn, D-Whitefield, in opposition to the rollback. “We settled this issue last year. The policy has been set. We need to keep the policy and not be flip-flopping all over the place every two years.”

Yet, when it comes to guns on school properties, these same Progressive Democrats were some upset that they didn’t get their way with NH State Senator Hennessey’s amendment to allow local School Boards, wern’t they?  You see, they KNOW that most School Boards, being one of the foxholes that defend the Liberal mantras, would agree with them and carry out the NH Senate Democrats in banning guns on their premises.  So LET them have control, we BELIEVE in local control!

Yeah, right – until they don’t.

Local Education

Are brick and mortar classrooms obsolete? Jody and Ian Underwood continue the education discussion with the book “The Beautiful Tree,” we touch on the advantages of local control in education, and real-world costs per classroom versus what your school board is charging you.

Screw DC, Save Your State!

The states have a constitutional right to deny DC its overreach  on a wide range of issues but to do that we must act locally to elect officials who will stand up to the Washington Cabal.

Don’t Give In To A Bully

The Bullies in the AG’s office are prepared to take a small town to court even though the law is against them. We talk more about the intimidation factor, the press, and the likely costs to go to court to defend School Choice.

CALL TO ACTION: SB48 passed the House Ed Committee.

From Ann Marie Banfield c/o Facebook
CALL TO ACTION:

SB48 passed the House Ed Committee.

The good news is that both the Democrats and Republicans had ISSUES with ASSESSING “Dispositions”. That word was removed with an amendment.

Unfortunately schools will be labeled “Priority” and “Focus” schools based upon the standardized assessment results.

This means that if your students do not perform well on the standardized assessment that is ALIGNED TO COMMON CORE, your school could end up identified as a “Priority or Focus” school.

Common Core architect & advisor to the NH DOE: ELIMINATE LOCAL CONTROL

This is the plan to eliminate Local School Boards….just released today – by Marc Tucker at the Center for American Progress (THE Progressive think tank frequented by Clintonistas and Obama-ites which is totally in favor of “fundamentally transforming” America); the important part:  …If Americans are going to decide which level of government we want to … Read more

Don’t Mess With League City, Texas

Heidi Theiss
Heidi Thiess

Heidi Thiess, City Council Member in League City, Texas authored a resolution to to “protect and defend the constitutional right to keep and bear arms’.  It was introduced – and adopted – on February 12, 2013.

In her public statement, she said “It is not about having a right to hunt or shoot skeet, it’s about self-defense, from the criminal element on our streets, the common thugs, AND the criminal element within our own government – who wish to be masters of a disarmed and helpless people. Make no mistake, that is what this is really about, control.’

While non-binding in nature, League City, Texas has put those who might believe otherwise, on notice.

I’ve taken the liberty of reproducing it below (with minor adaptations to suit any New Hampshire city or town):

A Conservative Solution to The Public School Lunch Circular Firing Squad

Federal mandates made school lunches cost more and forced foods into them most kids don’t care for so the Derry School District Lunch program School lunches dont have to be expensive trach no one wantsis pondering why overall receipts are down.

“The food service numbers are significantly less on student sales,” Simard said. She said the food services department is still working to determine the cause and whether it is the result of new meal plans and food choices required under state and federal reimbursement guidelines.

She knows why she is just being diplomatic.  The Feds have made lunch cost more.  They have made the cost of providing lunch cost more.  They have simultaneously required foods that a majority of the target hot lunch customer base does not enjoy while making foods they do less accessible or unavailable.  The result is more cost for less benefit.

Republicans Want to Limit Your Access to (Insert lie here)

Democrats will make up stories about their own mothers if they think it will advance their political agenda, so we cannot pretend to be surprised when the professional Lefts “Republican War on Women Blitzkrieg” embraces outright deception; the idea that Republicans want to limit your access to (insert lie here.)

This idea is based on the Democrats obsession with positive rights.  In the real world you are born with free speech and the right to defend your life and property whether there is a government or not.  In the Democrat world these things cannot exist until there is a government to give them to you.  This rule applies to everything.   So we could just as easily say that Republicans want to limit your access to Starbucks Latte’s.  The government isn’t standing over Starbucks making sure you get the Federally approved brand of coffee at taxpayer expense, therefore your “right” to that coffee is in danger.

The Lefts War on Women intifada applies this notion to abortion and contraception to broadcast outright lies about Republicans, and I’m here to tell you…if you believe the Democrats, you should demand an intellectual refund on your public school education because your mind has been robbed of common sense.

Ask A New Hampshire Democrat: About The Hostage Situation

There are those among us who are concerned that New Hampshire sends more federal tax dollars out of the state than it gets back.  The same people, typically Democrats and Moderate Republicans, argue for more Federal meddling in state affairs.  The same people who also complain about “out of state influence” in local elections.

If you send more money to DC so you can then act the hero when we get it back, complete with strings attached, other sources of out of state money will find those people and try to keep them in office so that central planners can milk all 50 teats for as much as possible and then sit in on the “hostage negotiations” when you want or need some of it back.

But wouldn’t this make more sense?

GrokTV Event: Brookfield Planning Board – presentation on “Sustainable Communities Initiative” – Part 3

Eileen Mashimo next addressed the Brookfield Planning Board and added some of the connections to some of the groups that are behind the scenes of this initiative, how the people and the groups all  interconnect, and the methods by which this “Granite State Future Plan” is being rammed through the process (it is rather manipulative).  All said and done, it is clear that those behind this do not have the standard model of democracy in mind, nor values that our Founders would agree with or give their blessing to them.

Part 2 is after the jump

GrokTV Event: Brookfield Planning Board – presentation on “Sustainable Communities Initiative” – Part 2

Ken Eyring continues and finishes his presentation of some of the paperwork that just never seems to stop once a local community signs onto the “Granite State Future Plan” (the NH adaptation of the Federal program called “Sustainable Communities Initiative”  operated by a consortium of the Federal EPA, the Federal Dept. of Transportation, and the Federal Housing and Urban Development).

Sidenote: viewed from one angle, that last department’s name is indicative of the goal – to fundamentally transform how Americans will be allowed to live by creating “urban development” villages with high density housing and just public transit: not just bringing the city to rural areas but making rural communities into “micro-cities” where everyone is forced to live together instead of the types of town NH has historically had).

Some main points, overall:

  • The endpoint has already been established
  • Local control will be a thing of the past
  • Why is taxpayer money being used against taxpayers best interest?
  • Those presenting “the plan” are not being honest – they are not upfront about what towns are about to get themselves into and not honest about the techniques being used to do so.

Part 4 (and last) after the jump:

GrokTV Event: Brookfield Planning Board – presentation on “Sustainable Communities Initiative” – Part 1

Monday night, the Brookfield, NH Planning Board heard a presentation by Ken Eyring and Eileen Mishimo on their research concerning the Federal Government pushing their Sustainable Communities Initiative (called Granite State Future Plan here in NH, a “massive entitlement / welfare program”).  Those that are pushing this agenda are doing so by making it seem innocuous in the beginning but based on the hundreds of hours of research that Ken and Eileen have done on primary documents, it results in a virtual takeover of local communities by land use and zoning changes and collected demographic studies that are then used in lawsuits when Federal “standards” are broached by local communities (i.e., how local towns give up their sovereignty via “Federal money with invisible strings attached” and “strumg up” by their own efforts to comply with ensnaring federal regulations and mandates).

Ken Eyring from the Southern NH 9.12 Project presented first in his slow, quiet, methodical manner (hey, he’s a software engineer – what else would you expect!).  Here are the first two segments:

Part 2 after the jump:

The International Baccaluareate And Political Truancy

The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.   Abraham Lincoln

Bedford students say issue is local control, reads todays’ Union Leader Headline. Over one-hundred Bedford High School students showed up at yesterday’s hearing to oppose HB 1403. Amidst cries of outrage over interference with, “local control”, leading the crowd was a young fellow named Michael Courtney, a Junior at Bedford High School.  The young master Courtney has undertaken the yolk of political activism and created a YouTube Video advocating the opposition of this bill.

They call it Cramming Costs Down, I Call it Returning Local Control (and Local Responsibility)

We sent a Republican super-majority to the New Hampshire State House to deal with the profligate spending and incompetent accounting of the Democrats.   We can all disagree on the specifics of the outcome but one fact is clear–they did what we sent them there to do.  State government is no longer growing in excess of our ability to pay for it.   Spending is in line with revenues.  Real cuts have been enacted to state government.    No more Left wing lead Midnight tax and fee jamborees, searching the Granite couch cushions for new revenues to replace the “missing” ones.  Frugality is more the order of the day.  Without Democrats at the levers, the oppressive power of the purse has stopped accumulating in the State Capitol.

And if you had not noticed, the progressives in both parties are very unhappy about that.

ConservationNH And Their “Tree-huggin” Hippy Crap

“The college idealists who fill the ranks of the environmental movement seem willing to do absolutely anything to save the biosphere, except take science courses and learn something about it.” — P.J. O’Rourke

The NH Union Leader’s Ted Seifert featured a story about ConservationNH.org and their inaugural release of the, “Dirty Dozen” list of bills currently before the legislature.  According to filings with the Secretary of State, this group began in 2009 and its board is comprised of individuals listing affiliations and accomplishments more warmly welcoming in the left-wing political arena. That is an important distinction to make because they have RINO’s Rick Russman and Liz Hager on their team.

When readers go to the website, ConservationNH.org, the information is incomplete. There are no links to actual bills, titles or analysis other than what ConservationNH.org has to say about it. Lets look at their list:
