Former mayor Kendall Lane was quoted: “I think it’s very exciting to have Jay running for mayor…”. That was a neat trick: getting Jay and “exciting” in the same sentence.

The TRUTH Shall Set You Free
I’m a simple man quite honestly. I don’t really need a whole heck of a lot in my life to be happy. I think most of us here in the Granite State feel that way. We go to work, back home to our families, eat our warm dinners and lay down our heads in a comfortable bed.
Another Attempted Gun-Grab by the Democrats … Another Cheap Political Stunt by Ray Buckley … Aided and Abetted by the FakeNews
This: Lahut’s article begins as follows: After the N.H. Firearms Coalition (NHFC) brought a banner and signs with images of Democratic Statehouse lawmakers and a Nazi symbol to a committee hearing last week, the N.H. Democratic Party filed a formal complaint with the N.H. Attorney General’s Office Thursday. So there is no question about the … Read more
Granite Grok Passes the Keene Sentinel – Time to Go After The Conway Daily Sun
In our ongoing quest to build our reach and ranking as a top-five New Media presence in New Hampshire, I’m proud to announce that Alexa shows us climbing past the Keene Sentinel to the number seven spot in our watchlist.
This is great news because seeing increased traffic in the heat of summer is an excellent indicator of what we can expect come fall and winter.
Editorial Second Guessing And Blind Hypocrisy
“A liar begins with making falsehood appear like truth, and ends with making truth itself appear like falsehood.” —William Shenstone
The Keene Sentinel , last Thursday, featured an editorial, positing the question, “Could an armed citizen have stopped the shooter? But they never really answer the question and instead make an argument that we should move toward more gun control.
The opening paragraph states,
Anyone who has ever aimed and discharged a firearm knows that accuracy depends on a number of things — the eye of the shooter, the weapon in use, levels of training and experience. There’s also the matter of setting. Hitting a target at a shooting range, with pulse steady and trigger squeezed, is not the same as, say, taking down a gunman in a darkened theater that’s filled with tear gas and screaming, panic-stricken movie-goers.
Anatomy Of Gun Range Neighbors
“Complainers change their complaints, but they never reduce the amount of time spent in complaining.” —Mason Cooley
Here we go again. Same old story. Same old lame complaints. The Monadnock Rod and Gun Club was established in 1947. This 65-year old club continues to do what it always has done: Operate shooting ranges. And, like any other Sporting Club, the amount and continuity of the sound of the shooting ambience, varies with time of season and number of events hosted at the club.In short, neighboring residents can reasonably expect to hear gunfire more during certain times of the year than other times of the year. And if they cannot live with that, then why on earth purchase a home in proximity to a shooting range?
We’ll Have A Gay Old Time
It should be common knowledge that Governor Lynch attended a secret gay-donor confab in Chicago back in May. But no one was supposed to know. I got wind of it when I received an article from the Washington Blade questioning the secrecy. (A repost of that blog can be found here) Only two months later, it is finally showing up locally at the Keene Sentinel.
Of course the Sentinel seemed more concerned with the group and our governor’s evolution on the issue; his shift from what they call ambivalence to outward embrace of gay marriage. But why not report this meaningful embrace back in May when it happened? It seems like he could have used a lift after that beating he took from the National Organization for Marriage. Was it too secret an embrace? So secret that the no one wanted it known? Was Governor Lynch afraid to come out of the gay donor closet?
He was, and for good reason.
