AFP/NH – Presidential Summit – The Closing

The majority of the evening’s event is here.  As with all events, there is a closing – this is it. We also live streamed the event; here is the recording of the Summit portion of the event: Video streaming by Ustream

AFP/NH’s Conservative of the Year Dinner

Friday night, the ‘Grok was invited by Americans for Prosperity / NH’s Exec. Directory, Corey Lewandoski to cover their Dinner honoring Ovide Lamontagne as their Conservative of the Year.  Several people spoke about Ovide’s contributions including Tom Thomson (honorary Chair) and US Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC).

Note and disclosure: I thought it RATHER amusing that as hard as he tried, it took Corey a LONG time to get the event start, and who could blame him? Fill a room with hundreds of political folks, who tend to generate much "hot air" (including your’s truly, as I had brought "full kit" and was yakking with Grokster Steve and a few other folks in some ad hoc interviews), especially with political celebrities circulating about.  To Corey’s plus, the event did end on time!

The evening started off with the traditional Introductory Ceremonies:

Next was Tom Thompson who gave a good talk:

After the jump was a quick AFP video and then US Senator Jim DeMint gave a really nice speech concerning Ovide:

GrokTV Event – NH State Representative Al Baldasaro

God love him – former Marine, transmission only operates in one direction (forward) and always in motion.  A "prior Marine", he’s still operating as if he never left the Corp or his oath.  I don’t know Al well, other than I know who he is (and I think he may know who I am – … Read more

GrokTV Event: “Press Avail”

After most political events, there is an item called "The Presser" or "The Press Avail"; shorthands for Press Availability.  This is where the press (print, TV, radio, and now, New Media) gets to surround the Important People from the event (planned or unplanned folks) and ask questions, hoping beyond hope to get THE different question.  … Read more
