Maggie Hassan RGA Ad - Pays no Property Taxes

2012’s Most Commented Post: Democrat Maggie Hassan – Lives In A Half Million Dollar Home, Pays No Property Taxes

Sometimes all you need is the right picture or video and boom. Traffic goes crazy. During Maggie Hassan’s campaign for governor, there were scandals aplenty. Illegal campaign donations. Sex Scandals at PhillipSexeter Academy. Thinking its funny to beat Republican opponents with a bat. But our post of a Republican Governors Association Ad attacking Democrat Maggie Hassan on not having … Read more

Veto Override of HB 1679 – Partial Birth Abortion

The NH Legislature has overridden the Governor’s veto of HB 1679 banning partial birth abortion in New Hampshire.  I will visit this at greater length when time permits, but for now here is a statement from Ellen Kolb at Cornerstone Policy Research following the veto override.   CONTACT: Ellen Kolb, Cornerstone VP of Government Affairs, … Read more

Win The Future (WTF)

Worst recession in history.  Had three years to work on it, two of them with a Democrat majority congress, no budget from the Senate since 2009,  the economy still sucks, we have an election coming up, and what are Democrats running on? – Contraception. – A billionaires Secretary – Dogs Seriously?

Breaking News – Michigan GOP Changes Allocation Of Delegates

ABC News headline states: “Michigan GOP Changes Delegate Rules, Gives Primary Edge to Romney” and the Associated Press states “Michigan GOP changes delegate award after vote.” Last night there was an unannounced closed-door secret meeting of the Michigan Republican Party credentialing committee. During the meeting, they voted 4 to 2 to allocate delegates differently than … Read more

Ron Paul’s Newsletters

In the last election cycle almost everyone on the center right used “voting for bills without reading them” as a campaign cudgel.  So I think it is safe to say that we have some expectation of accountability for what our elected officials put their name to.

When talking about Presidents, we have an equal interest in their having a full understanding of what they are signing into law and every right to hold them to account for everything they put their name to, even though they may not have written a single word of it.

Ron Paul’s name is on the newsletters.  He may or may not have written them.  He may or may not have read them.   His campaign and his supporters do not think he should be held to task for their content.  They have even gone so far as to suggest that their is some massive Republican conspiracy to discredit him.

Perry Drops Out

Not sure I need to say much more, but when has that ever stopped me? Perry had a huge advantage but squandered it by being too casual about the public debate personae.  The end result was the crash and burn of an otherwise competent conservative with far fewer negatives than the rest of the field … Read more

Libertarian View Of the Republican Party

I find this both accurate and amusing.

The Bells! The Bells!

My phone has been ringing about every 15 minutes.  If this is getting on my nerves I can’t imagine how the non-activist citizens are taking it.  But tomorrow that ends–for a little while. And today we vote. Who will win the New Hampshire Primary?  Include your run down of who comes out where and feel … Read more

Bill Whittle unbound about 2012 and the need to defeat Barak Hussein Obama

“In his last Afterburner of 2011, Bill Whittle takes a look at the state of this country three years into Obama’s rule and has amassed a list of breathtaking failures bound to stun and/or depress champions of smaller government. Solyndra, Fast & Furious, the Keystone Pipeline and the deficit are just a handful of the … Read more

Anyone Object To A Vice President Ron Paul?

Ron Paul for...Vice PresidentI think everything Ron Paul stands for deserves as much oxygen as it can get (for good or bad).  But no matter what the effect of that vetting, no matter how well he does in Iowa and New Hampshire, I still don’t see a path to the nomination.  (This does not make me a neo-con, by the way.)

Gary Johnson has gone third party-ish (Libertarian), taking that avenue from the esteemed Texas Congressman, and we have to wonder if there is a Huntsman independent bid, a Donald Trump Fifth column party, or any number of other players vying for “most arrogant attention seeker in a hopeless endeavor destined to give Obama four lame duck years to finish the country off for good” category.   Ron Paul not getting the nomination is a part of that conundrum.  In fact, he may well turn out to be the Justice Anthony Kennedy of the GOP Primary.

His fans are legion in their support and willing to do anything to see him find a way to the White House. Many are already promising to stand by and risk Obama getting re-elected rather that vote for some McCain retread, risking what amounts to a protest-fast that will probably end in the death of liberty before we get another shot at the oval office.

But does Ron Paul as VP change the game?

Be A Force Multiplier For Freedom

As important now as ever, whatever the results of the New Hampshire primary and beyond, is that Republicans, Conservatives, Libertarians, and Independents coalesce at the state and local level to greet our opponents on the field of battle.  Our opponents are the institutional left and their mobocracy agenda.  To that end I offer a link … Read more

O’Brien to Endorse Gingrich; Horn will Endorse Romney

The Manchester Union Leader is reporting today that House Speaker Bill O’Brien plans to formally endorse Newt Gingrich today.  This was noted last week but not formally stated.

“I want a candidate who has a clear understanding of conservative philosophy. I look for someone who has good instincts, someone who is intelligent and has great leadership and an ability to articulate the philosophy of our party and his own goals.

“Speaker Gingrich has all of that,” O’Brien said.

Former CD-2 Congressional candidate Jennifer Horn will endorse Mitt Romney today, and has been selected as co-chair of Romney’s national grass-roots committee.  (Let’s see – Ayotte is on the VP list, endorses Romney; Horn gets national committee co-chair, endorses Romney– Oh, did I write that out loud?)

Bachmann’s Contrdiction

Speaker Gingrich is taking heat for statements about immigration reform, mostly from people campaigning against him. (But then, that’s what makes a big primary so much fun.) Congressman Michele Bachmann, on PBS NewsHour of all places, took it to the hole with this remark…

Palin for President (?)

It seems obvious that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is going to announce her intention to run for the Republican nomination on September third, the three year anniversary of her accepting the nomination for Vice President. The pundits are lining up in agreement.

A Silber In The Minds Eye

So in the face of this economic catastrophe, which the democrats happily sold as a disaster not unlike a Biblical plague, what did NH Democrats do? They decided that despite that we were going to take in 23% more revenue than we did when times were “good” and went on a grow government spending spree. You could call that a revenue problem, but I think it is really more of a democrats are selfish, ideological, tax and spend A-holes problem.

2012 Can’t Come Fast Enough

The Sunday Union Leader had a letter to the editor titled "2012 can’t come fast enough."  It suggests that New Hampshire did not vote for a majority and leadership intent on stripping collective bargaining agreements from 70,000 New Hampshire workers…" which is a number I would contest given this data.  (Where we may be hiding 70,000 public sector union workers is a question worth exploring, but not right now.)

The author is Kevin Foley.  Kevin is a great guy.   We worked together at UPS for a number of years, he was a driver, and I was a package car loader–including his.  But Kevin has been a well paid union organizer with the Teamsters for years, as an IBT Business agent, and earns more than double the national average in income and compensation for the privilege. Kudos to Kevin for the sweet gig.  I bet he works hard for it.

Kevin has donated hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars to democrats and the local Teamster PAC–(Granite State Teamsters DRIVE) which supports the national union and democrat candidates in the state (one local example from NH S.o.S.); the same ones who grew state government, added public union employees, some of whose dues pay Kevin’s salary, and the same democrats who left us with a nearly one billion dollar budget deficit as a result.

After two years of extravagance on the taxpayer dime. Week after week of high priced parties with expensive food and high priced entertainment. Date nights that shut down cities. Frivolous trips (in his and her jetliners complete with entourage) to various parts of the globe. Vacation, after vacation, after vacation. And despite the glamor of a designer wardrobe, pimped by the adoring media for the past 24 months, we are now supposed to be impressed by this?
