Two features of the progressive cult that appear obvious, but which don’t get enough attention, are the othering of people and the justification of violence, including murder. They’ve both been featured on these pages and in past morning updates, but the message needs to seep into the so-called political middle.
The middle likes to ignore the edges. What we might label extreme or radical is verboten. No one in the middle wants to talk about abortion or chemically castrating children. Even deportation of actual criminals here illegally has been so weaponized by the left that it is toxic water-cooler commentary. And you can’t catch a break from HR because the harpies who make a growing list of public or civic news or policy off-limits are just as broken and angry as they are.
It’s deliberate.
Remember COVID? Same deal. You “other” not just people (anti-vaxxers, science deniers) but ideas. If we can’t talk about them, more of us stop thinking about them, and the creeping tyranny wins. Free speech isn’t just a defense of the right to badmouth your government and the people selected to represent us in it; at its foundation, it protects intellectual curiosity without which innovation and even liberty are impossible.
Othering also creates permission structures, a rejection of which explains the growing intolerance to anything that can be framed as antisemitic. As we have previously warned, antisemitism will be used as an excuse to other your speech the same way misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation have. These are political terms of art meant to narrow the pathways of public discourse. Call out the actual Jew haters the way you would any other true haters, which has to include anyone who celebrates murder.
And by anyone, I mean the political left. Here’s a nice roundup of recent examples, but you’ll know most or all of them. And as Rob Roper added, Both Sides Have Nut Jobs, But Only One Side Cheers Them On.
Lots of our readers would love to toss some pedos into a woodchipper, at least metaphorically, but with a few exceptions (I’m sure we missed them), we remove those and any similar calls for violence against groups or people, whether we think they deserve it or not. I will not deliberately foster a casual indifference to violence, real or otherwise. It encourages your mind to follow a destructive path that harms you and those around you.
Democrat leadership pretends at this but not only encourages but condones violence against not just political opponents but their supporters and even people in governments run by them. It’s epidemic and demonstrable by how the blue grassroots behave and the reality of how leftism progresses.
No one on the right celebrates murder (mostly because we shut them down if they try), but the deaths of Brian Thompson and Charlie Krik had self-described Dems unable to control their joy. The threat to Brett Kavanaugh, Butler, Antifa shooting at ICE agents, and the recent promises of retribution against anyone who supported Trump or followed his legal orders. This is sick, twisted business inspired by the systemic othering of anyone who even appears to stand between Democrats and power.
You ain’t black?
The hatred flung at Dems who walked away? Registered Democrat staffer Tara Reade got finger raped by Joe Biden in his Senate office (yeah, he grabbed her by the pu**y), but instead of a boisterous, pink-knitted hat movement in her defense (when the story broke), she got hated on by democrat women, men, and the media. They were still Ridin’ with Biden.
Almost no one outside the center-right activist community even knows her story.
The other day I wrote an article titled: “MACDONALD: The Only Point On Which We Must All Agree.” That even the worst Republican is better than a “good” democrat.
The Democrat party has changed. It appears to be all in on the Mamdani, Sandy, Cortez, Bernie, Platner, Spanberger agenda. Lie about being moderate. Claim your management will put the people first, and once elected, tax and regulate them into poverty, dependency, and silence. …
Locally, they will raise taxes, increase pending regulations, and try to pass regulations that restrict rights and liberties. That is not speculation. It is a fact. Your democrats are just like the ones that ruined Vermont, are wrecking Maine, and have long since made New York and Massachusetts places to flee, and they will act as quickly to reverse course as Mamdani and Spanberger, with equally catastrophic outcomes.
They will never stop othering you just for having different ideas about how you want to live and how much less government you need to live that way. They can’t leave you alone; their worldview does not permit it. They will never stop trying to limit your speech or your right to self-defense. There is no amount of money they can take from you that is too much. And just like every other historical example of Democrat-Socialism in its more radical forms (Marxism, Fascism, Communism), murder and sanctioned mob violence against “othered” individuals is celebrated.
They laid the groundwork, defined who the enemies were, and sometimes inferred or outright called for violence. Brian Thompson’s death is seen as a win for people whose leaders, once they’ve achieved a monopoly on legislative and kinetic force, would do the same to them if it was convenient, but they don’t know that or see it.
You won’t get the average person in the middle to just accept it until they’ve experienced it. The left will deny it the way someone caught cheating on their spouse insists that what you see with your own eyes (say, an intimate game of hide the salami) doesn’t mean what you think it means.
It is easier to not believe and pretend than to accept the obvious and process the pain, or, and here’s the hard part, the responsibility required of you moving forward.
If someone steals from you, you want that back, unless it is a progressive government which is also willing to take not just your property but your rights or your life. Why is that? Because you’ve been brainwashed to accept the former and are unwilling to accept the latter.
The problem is that there is no middle, just people who think there is.
The Left wants to take everything from you; the right wants (or is supposed to want) you to keep all of it as long as you don’t use it to infringe on a short list of what we consider to be rights no one can take from anyone else. You volunteer to share a small portion of what’s yours for shared interests, and the community you have chosen to share them with gets to decide what that means (except for that short list of rights no one can take from anyone else).
The libertarians are screaming and crying and yelling that this isn’t how it works, and they are correct, but no one on the left wants to fix that, no one. They want to keep breaking it until it serves only them, their desires, their priorities, and their impulses. Othering serves that purpose. Street violence advances the chaos they require to demand some sort of order that ends with you losing more property and more rights. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Musollini, Mao, Guevara, Castro, Chavez, Maduro.
If you want to fix it, you need more people on the right, and it’s not something that gets fixed with one election or even three or four. And you don’t need a political science degree to work it out.
The speech controls the othering, the disarming of citizens, the constant call for more or higher taxes, for government to be more involved, not less. The rising regulatory state that puts policy power in the hands of unelected bureaucrats. The refusal to investigate or prosecute fraud or the street violence by people who just happen to agree with Democrats and progressives politically.
Claiming no one is above the law to bend the law while ignoring the law when it suits your agenda or advances your interests.
For Democrats and their base, it’s okay to murder a CEO or a Supreme Court Justice, or a candidate for president, or the leader of a political youth movement if leadership tells you so. You should celebrate it, which encourages more of it.
I’m not othering them; I’m asking you to see it for what it is, so we can build a culture that objects to it and, when necessary, protects life by punishing those who would so easily take it away. Everyone deserves an opportunity to see that light and save themselves, their community, and their nation.
The left will hate this comparison, but that’s what the MAGA movement is. An effort to save the Republican Party from becoming a more moderate faction of the political left. The abused wife who makes excuses for her husband’s behavior even though she knows he’ll never change.
The political left cannot escape that analogy. Progressivism is a relationship between a belligerent and violent government and a people it not only abuses but manipulates into believing it deserves that abuse.
MAGA pushes back, and it is in the nature of the abuser to object violently to the paradigm shift. Succeeding will be uncomfortable. It will take time. We don’t want the abusers dead, but they might need to be in prison or house arrest or a political restraining order.
Voting for democrats as a response to this paradigm shift is a murder suicide. They will murder the constitutional republic, and possibly anyone who tries to defend it, but because you voted for this, it will look like suicide.
You become Brian Thompson, and they are Luigi Mangione; the progressive masses will cheer, at least until they come for them.
