Sandy Cortez and David Hogg are like the Democrat Party’s Ken and Barbie. Vapid Communist fashion statements with deep-pocketed Marxist supporters.
Cortez pissed off leadership early and often, knowing her BU “educated” backside could warm that seat indefinitely while her detractors got old and died. She supported radical left-wingers who have since begun to fall off the crooked commie vine. Jamaal ‘False Alarm’ Bowman, the squad’s male member, lost his primary in 2024, followed by Cori Bush two months after.
Continued attempts to run young, energetic socialists to replace the aging incumbent Democrats haven’t gone as well as she’d like in recent years, making her seat look less secure.
Hogg got himself elected as a DNC vice chair and then just as quickly un-elected, which is what Democrats call democracy. He was full of piss and vinegar to make some changes to the failing party and its brand, but the people in charge decided that Democracy was not served by the will of voting delegates and forced a do-over. Hogg, being male, white, and to the best of our knowledge straight, was easily replaced as white guilt and minority animus were leveraged to virtue-signal a successor with a bit more color. Shasti Conrad, the Washington State Democratic Party Chair, checks a few boxes. She’s South Asian (I guess that means, born in India), a woman (the actual thing, not the kind with a penis), and she’s not, for lack of a better word, slender—a product of the white tower with multiple degrees in non-productive disciplines.
The DNC insists it was because Hogg wouldn’t sign a pledge to remain neutral in Democratic primaries, as if the DNC actually does that. I hope he laughed in their face as he let the door hit him in the ass on the way out of party headquarters.
David Hogg’s claim to fame isn’t much more credible. He was a student at a school with a mass shooting a few years back, even though he wasn’t there when it happened, a trait he shares with Cortez. She is equally famous for not being someplace when something happened at the US Capitol one day in January a few years back.
Anyway, Hogg is still trying to prove himself as a playmaker, backing candidates to create his own Squad. His political action committee, Leaders We Deserve, has $ 20 million (from some deep-pocketed Marxists, no doubt) to try to elect like-minded young candidates. I’m not sure what he’d call it, but Hogg Pen works.
His first swing was a complete miss (I think it’s his first). He backed Deja Foxx in a Democrat primary to fill Arizona’s vacant 7th District congressional seat. His candidate came in a distant second, while the (also young) surviving daughter of the previous occupant won 70% of the vote. Name recognition matters.
Hogg has a lot of financial backing, so he’ll keep trying, but he needs to pick better races, or he’ll never have any pigs in his pen, so they can then claim that some animals are more equal than others.
