Democrats used to pretend to be the party of the people, and the people believed them. Not so much these days, but they can’t win elections without working-class voters, so their hatred of primarily white middle-class Americans needs a cover story.
Pay no attention to the globalism, policy that increases taxes, rasies the cost of energy, the cost of everything, making you buy cars you don’t want and can’t afford, electric grid instability, their war on small businesses, and making you applaud when a boy kicks your daughters ass at some sporting event, or else!
The Political Left in America is spending tens of millions to appeal to the people they tried to displace with illegal aliens. Baby, I’m sorry I smacked you around. I promise I won’t do it again. To demonstrate our commitment to care, we’re supporting unionization at upscale DC restaurants.
Over 50 Democratic senators and representatives have pledged to boycott six popular Washington, D.C., restaurants in support of ongoing unionization efforts, according to Axios.
The boycott, organized by the labor union Unite Here Local 25, aims to support restaurant workers seeking to organize. The group represents over 7,500 hospitality workers in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The boycott targeted the restaurants Le Diplomate, Osteria Mozza, Rasika, Modena, Bombay Club and The Occidental, according to a copy of the pledge obtained by Axios.
I’ve worked in every sort of restaurant, and given the state of DC’s economy, I understand why they’d want to unionize restaurant staff, but has no one learned any lessons here? The City of D.C., run by Democrats, is attempting to repeal a mandatory wage increase for tipped employees. Why? The cost hikes will force them to raise prices and shed jobs, or close. It’s bad for workers, business owners, and customers.
Unionization isn’t just about wages, but the union will leverage threats of walkouts to increase pay. Higher pay leads to collecting more dues, which puts more money and power into the hands of union bosses. The Cortez boycott is a dog and pony show. A performance designed to trick “workers” into thinking they care. If they win, eating out in DC will cost more and there will be fewer places to do it, and that’s not a bother to the 50 “protesters,” who make triple the national average income, many of whom used their office to become millionaires.
They don’t care.
The political left hasn’t cared about working people for a long time. They love unions, don’t get me wrong, but as laundromats run by Marxists who launder your dues into their campaign coffers. If you need an example of where that ends, look at Public Education. “Administrators” are numerous and well-heeled, while the workers do with less, and education itself has failed. You’d be lucky to find a school where half the kids can read at grade level. Most schools manage 30-40%, and that’s because of parents and kids, not the system.
When taxpayers balk at increasing costs or ask for cuts, administrators often fire teachers or trim back extracurricular activities. Non-productive staff have little to fear. When it comes to American workers, Union Bosses and politicians are the Administrators. They are the nonproductive staff. When the cost burdens of their top-heavy oversight become too much, workers suffer first.
It’s Bidenomics. The high cost, low pleasure, and hard times that always follow Democrat rule. This latest play is sleight of hand. Democrats don’t have a clue how to sustain a worker-friendly economy. If they did, they would have done it during Obama or Biden. Neither could manage it, and the best we got was a no-growth economy we were told was the new normal. The best they could do.[ Related: Winning in Trump’s Economy]
In 2017/2018, Trump crushed that mold and exposed the lie. He cut taxes on workers and businesses, opened up energy production, and created one of the most worker-friendly economies perhaps ever. The lower and middle classes gained bigly. Women, minorities, teens, and the working class saw more employment opportunities and better wages than we’d seen in perhaps forever.
Americans have seen a 17% jump in household wealth on average since Trump’s election. Most importantly the wealth at the bottom half has increased 54%. Trump calls this “… a blue collar boom…” Since December 2016 average household wealth has increased $15.8 trillion.
The Dems used COVID to kill it, and Trump’s re-election, stole the government back, used fear to trash the economy, subjugate the people, and then never could figure out how to get it back because they don’t know how and, likely, prefer it this way.
Donald Trump is likely about to jump-start the economy again, and Democrats are trying to stop it. Trump is bringing manufacturing back to America. He’s taking the side of coal miners, metal workers, and the folks who assemble cars. He is saving their jobs, adding more of them, and driving investment into America. Trump has rekindled the energy sector and walked back spending on infrastructure that is expensive and unreliable.
Meanwhile, 50 Democrat Senators and House Reps are boycotting exclusive, ritzy DC Dining joints that only they can probably afford, in the name of the working class.
That’s a great look.
