I don’t think we have to worry about the left or the media announcing how Mr. Trump is good for the everyday working man. And not just because they’d never dare call them “working man.” But, as it turns out, Trump’s policies are better for everyday joe and jane sixpack.
Data for the Bureau of Labor Statistics show pay rose 3.0 over the last twelve month, but only 2.5% for traditional white collar work. Working stiffs did much better.
But there was a 4.2 percent rise in wages for “sales and related” employees, a 3.7 percent rise for “production, transportation, and material moving” workers, a 3.4 percent rise for “trade, transportation, and utilities” workers, and a 4.1 gain for “leisure and hospitality” workers.
College graduates saw some wage growth but less than the “backbone of America.” That’s an interesting statistic you won’t see on heavy rotation at CNN or MSNBC. Nor will you hear the likely reason. At least not in its proper context.
Fewer illegal immigrants are taking those jobs. There are also fewer “legal immigrants” imported by big corporations as low-wage employees on work visas. Cheap white-collar labor. Trump promised to put the brakes on all of it, much to the dislike of the Left and its private outrage machine, the national media. But it fit his Americans first policy.
He’s not been as successful as he’d like but the results are in: higher wage growth for a sector of the economy the Democrats have long claimed for themselves. Everyday working folk. Those Blue Collar Democrats. (Gasp!)
I know what you’re thinking. I thought the Democrats were the party of the “little guy?” The hardworking…nope.
Democrat policies and priorities all share one thing in common. They help Democrats in positions of political power to grow and expand that power. That’s all they do. Anyone who tells you different is probably in on the scam or hoping to get in on it.
Mr. Trump said he’d work for regular Americans. He is, and he’s still working for them.
