Prager University has released two short videos to help you grasp the brilliance of the electoral college. Wait, I know. You already knew this stuff. But how good are you are explaining it? And how handy would it be to have a quick resource to share for those who are still struggling?
“Defeating Islamic terror, shrinking government, growing the economy. These are the issues that matter most. Instead, we’re debating social issues like abortion and gay rights. They’re a distraction and only help to elect Hillary. After 8 years of Obama style socialism, we need to shrink government, not let Big Government tell us how to live our lives.”
That’s from a George Pataki ad (if you don’t know, he thinks he can be the next Prez) – just ignore them, a nothing burger on the grander scheme of things. And he’s completely oblivious that Big Government IS using those issues and demanding that we live our lives accordingly. THAT is why she AND Obama are emphasizing them! Take a read
President Obama suggested that people of faith should focus more on helping the poor, instead of focusing on divisive issues such as gay marriage and abortion…“I think it would be powerful for our faith-based organizations to speak out on this in a more forceful fashion,”
Religious beliefs – abortion, gay marriage. Change them, BANISH them, they say. Ignore them, he says – even as, for instance, gay marriage is being used to change the Law. That’s a big deal, George!
Yes, true human Jettiness. Yes, I asked TMEW if I could try it. Yes, with a bit of merriment shining out from my eyes. Yes, I got exactly what I thought I would from her – “the Look”. She was not amused (but I was!). (H/T: C/NET)
I don’t know. This is new. (Politico) At a townhall event Monday for Rand Paul in Londonderry, New Hampshire, the Kentucky senator’s political director for the state, David Chesley, licked the camera of a tracker sent by American Bridge, a left-leaning opposition research group. H/T JP Marzullo
Full day, fun discussions! Except for the beginning when our streaming PC decided that some vital parts could continue to sleep instead of getting the show on the cyber-road (it may be time to rethink some of the technology). Anyways, a full GrokTALK! today:
Groksters Steve, Mike, and Skip start things off with Odds and Sods: winter weather, weather for California Gov. Moonbeam and how environmentalists are responsible for their woeful water infrastructure
BH State Rep Max Abramson comes on for a long Legislative Update due all the important bills flowing the NH House & Senate (among them, SB30 (“Balsams Bailout”) and SB116 (“Constitutional Carry”)
Greg Klein, a blogger at Red Maryland, comes on to talk about Baltimore: the incident, the riots, and the politics
Ron Moore – storm chaser – updates us on weather and climate. Note: if you liked the last two winters, you have something to look forward too!
Yes, tech problems this morning galore and as a result, the video from the first segment on GrokTALK! with NH State Rep Max Abramson on a Legislative Update was lost (the livestream cam kept cutting out – sorry Max!). However, we marshalled on and hopefully next week, things will go a bit better.
Segment 1b – Jane Cormier, President of NH Right to Life comes on for an RTL Update
Segment 2 – Ed Naile, Chair of CNHT, comes on for a Voter Fraud Update (and yes, that includes you,Jared Steven Cram; a previous posts here, here, here, here, and here.
Segment 3 – Kimberly Morin comes on to talk about the Balsams Boondoggle – whereby Les Otten wants NH Taxpayers to be on the hook to restore his North Country Palace The Balsams Resort and politicians all too willing to do just that via Senate Bill SB30. She gives us more sordid details as well (conservation ownership, unstated timber $$$, toxic dump, and (?) water rights broken).
Segment 4a – David Bozell, Executive Director of ForAmerica, comes on to talk about tax reform (and a bunch of other things as we led him down a few other paths)
This is so rich – and typical. Turns out that Billy Shaheen, the NH Hillary Head Honcho (and husband to the US Federal Government’s Ambassador to NH, Jeanne Shaheen) either hasn’t a clue as to what Hillary actually stands for – or CAN’T. You decide: Gosh, you’d think that after 30 years on the national … Read more
The resurgent talk about the US Constitution’s Tenth Amendment and States’ Rights was the object of Mike Roger’s speech to the crowd, a subject of no little interest lately with the overreach of the current Obama Administration trying to wend its way into every nook and cranny of everyone’s commercial and private lives. After all, it was the States that created the Federal Government – and not the other way around. Trevor Loudon come up from down under and this New Zealander speaks about the danger he sees for American with “The enemy within – Marxism” and unlimited illegal immigration (either by de facto or allowed / encouraged by the Obama Administration).
Next in line as speakers for the 603 Alliance Grassroot Summit:
From the Center for Immigration Studies came Jessica Vaughn (Director of Policy Studies) to talk about, well, immigration.
She was followed by Fredo Aria-King, industrialist, who was described to me as a real Renaissance Man for all of the varied projects he is involved in.
Here in NH, the political world is well familiar with the Free State Project; Professor Jason Sorens was its founder and came to the stage to not talk about that but how Conservatives / Libertarians can attract that illusive voter block – the Millennials. “Barbara from Harlem” – I was told that her “start” was being a frequent caller to the Mark Levin radio show; she changed from being a liberal to being a conservative. I will have to say that I sincerely enjoyed her time on the stage – her style could be grokked in fullness as “Preach it, Preacher!!” as she told the crowd to get off their backsides (and to borrow from Steve’s fave movie) “Never give up and never surrender!”
Dan Itse is well recognized for his knowledge of the NH & US Constitutions (as well as other States’ as well). Here at the 603 Alliance meeting, he talks about his favorite Constitution. Mike Rogers’ work also makes an appearance – the importance, celebration, and the work needed to keep our Freedoms.
Dan Itse Life, Liberty, Cain, Boldin, Nugent, Murphy
And we wrap up the last of the videos with the Why, the What, and the How to Help of the 603 Alliance. Also, an introduction of its sister organization, the Conservative Business League of NH. Members of the 603 Alliance Steering Committee explain:
NH State Rep Frank Edelblut then took the stage at Sunday’s 603 Alliance Grassroot Summit at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua; his message was about conservative legislation efforts in the NH House. Former Ambassador Gregory Slayton was slated to be next but could not attend (at the last moment); Mike Rogers stood in for him to bring his message of support for the 603 Alliance.

We get a little bit away from the speakerpalozza regime with a media panel to talk about the state of today’s media and the 5th Estate. Sylvia Smith (conservative activist, 603 Alliance committee) and Jeff Chidester (also a conservative activist, radio talk show host, and newspaper columnist) joined me in, yes, raking the mainstream media over the coals. Hey, from our standpoint, they deserve it as Jeff relates his problem with them – and I pile on using The Daily Beast reporterette as an example:
Chair of the RLCNH and the Stark 360 PAC, Aaron Day, came to the stage next to talk about both the PAC and the end goal of why this conservative collaboration of getting behind a candidate so as not to repeat the sad lessons of when squishes split the middle of two (or more) conservative candidates. Ann Marie Banfield, educational liaison for Cornerstone Action came to educate the crowd about why the efforts to put Common Core into NH is a bad idea.
Phew! I’m still not through processing the videos from Sunday’s 603 Alliance Grassroot Summit but I’ve done enough to start posting them up. Pretty much all day, too, without running out! The first speaker was nationally known (and ‘Grok fave) Dr. Betsy McCaughey, Constitutional scholar and Obamacare expert and was followed by Jack Kimball (former chair of the Granite State Patriots, NH GOP Chair, and candidate for NH Governor). Betsy spoke on the Constitutional violations now occurring under the Obama Administration while Jack spoke of Individual Rights and Liberties
Next up at the 603 Alliance Grassroot Summit were US Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) and Jane Cormier (President of NH Right to Life). Steve King talked about the goings on in DC while Jane spoke about the importance of the unborn, their right to Life, and why it should be important to us all.
603 Alliance Grassroot Summit: the Conservative kick-off of the 2016 Presidential Primary. Sure, the NH GOP had their big shindig the two days prior to Sunday’s event in which the “second campaign” has started in earnest – the wooing, attracting, and snaring of NH “name” activists by either the announced or coy Republican Prez wannabees. That’s fine – they want either the organizers or influencers on their side. The 603 Alliance is different – along with other like minded groups (if what I see out in the blogosphere is correct), Conservatives are no longer content to watch a moderate win primaries when multiple Conservative candidates split that wing’s vote multiple ways – much to the detriment of all. These speakers (and previous, and following) understand this. As well as the committed attendees.
Sharon Angle, best known for her attempt to beat the current US Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (attempt: the Establishment Republicans decided to pull their support from her), was also a long term state level politician in Nevada. Bill O’Brien needs little in the way of introduction here in NH: NH State Representative, former Speaker of the NH House, and stalwart Conservative, and fearless:
Yesterday was a long day at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua for the 603 Alliance Grassroot Summit event: 20 speakers (all with different topics) and a short panel discussion. At its max, approximately 200 people were in attendance according to the event registration folks (way more than The Daily Beast reporterette penned, but more on … Read more
