NHGOP Woodshed
This Woodshed is getting one heck of workout lately…

A topic of much discussion today on GrokTALK! were the recent remarks by NHGOP Chair Jennifer Horn.  She fired up the GOP unity bus (see attached video for J-Ho Go Team! Rah-Rah from the Rockingham County Republican Dinner just last Weekend) and publicly backed it over Congressman Guinta.

Gov. Scott Walker at the RCRC Dinner

There were plenty of speeches at the Rockingham County Republican Committee Founders dinner–as there so often are at such events. The keynote speaker is the one you’ll be most interested in; unfortunately I only have the first 20 plus minutes of that speech.  Mike Rogers will have to bail me out for the balance.  Event … Read more

Palate Cleanser – Life Lessons from an Ad Man

I found this to be very amusing. Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy & Mather (one of the biggest marketing/advertising agencies in the world), makes the assertion that a change in perceived value can be just as satisfying as what we consider “real” value. [ted id=658 lang=en]

Hung Jury in Mark Richardson’s Assault Trial

Today’s Union Leader, from James A. Kimble

BRENTWOOD — A judge declared a mistrial for an ex-Seabrook police officer accused of assaulting a 19-yearold drunken driving suspect while on duty.

The jury in the Mark Richardson trial told Judge N. William Delker at least twice on Tuesday that they were deadlocked on reaching a verdict before they were released from duty. “There was more than a lone holdout. I don’t think we ever got a number,” defense lawyer Peter Perroni said late Tuesday.

Richardson, 40, faced a single count of simple assault by an on-duty law enforcement officer for slamming Michael Bergeron into a cement wall at the Seabrook police station on Nov. 11, 2009.

Not Guilty? You can watch the video and decide for yourself.

The University Diversity Scam

Watch this then go figure out a) how much the State University system is wasting while they cry about public support and tuition rate, and b) how much of that $11 million in additional dollars the State Senate just added to the UNH budget could go to this kind of nonsense.

RSA 91-A: Right to Know workshop with a South Korean contingent (Part 1)

Monday night I had the pleasure of meeting with a small contingent of five South Korean politicos (and two interpreters) at the offices of CNHT in Concord.  They are touring the United States in search of how we deal with government corruption; CNHT was chosen for our nationally known experience (and success) in ferreting out and stopping local government officials acting badly.  We were also selected because we help other volunteers in doing this and build up that expertise and institutional knowledge that can be shared.

This workshop revolved around NH’s Right To Know statute: RSA 91-a and how ordinary citizens can and do use it quite effectively in a variety of ways of keep a government entity that may be trying to become unaccountable highly accountable to its citizens. After, it IS Government that is supposed to report to us – not the other way around.

As Skip is always saying “The Bigger the Government, the smaller the citizen”.  Being an aborist, think of RSA 91-a as the citizenry’s chainsaw (pruning government gone bad).

Parts 1 & 2 (3 and 4 later on today):

This is the video that’s literally resulted in an official … Read more

Jettiness – whereby humans become their own jet planes

Yes, true human Jettiness.  Yes, I asked TMEW if I could try it.  Yes, with a bit of merriment shining out from my eyes. Yes, I got exactly what I thought I would from her – “the Look”.  She was not amused (but I was!). (H/T: C/NET)

So, what do Obama, Hillary, and George Pataki have in common?

“Defeating Islamic terror, shrinking government, growing the economy. These are the issues that matter most.  Instead, we’re debating social issues like abortion and gay rights. They’re a distraction and only help to elect Hillary.  After 8 years of Obama style socialism, we need to shrink government, not let Big Government tell us how to live our lives.”

George PatakiThat’s from a George Pataki ad (if you don’t know, he thinks he can be the next Prez) – just ignore them, a nothing burger on the grander scheme of things.  And he’s completely oblivious that Big Government IS using those issues and demanding that we live our lives accordingly.  THAT is why she AND Obama are emphasizing them! Take a read

Religious beliefs – abortion, gay marriage. Change them, BANISH them,  they say.  Ignore them, he says – even as, for instance, gay marriage is being used to change the Law.  That’s a big deal, George!

And Pataki is right there

GrokTALK! – May 2nd, 2015 – The Videos

Full day, fun discussions! Except for the beginning when our streaming PC decided that some vital parts could continue to sleep instead of getting the show on the cyber-road (it may be time to rethink some of the technology).  Anyways, a full GrokTALK! today:

  • Groksters Steve, Mike, and Skip start things off with Odds and Sods: winter weather, weather for California Gov. Moonbeam and how environmentalists are responsible for their woeful water infrastructure
  • BH State Rep Max Abramson comes on for a long Legislative Update due all the important bills flowing the NH House & Senate (among them, SB30 (“Balsams Bailout”) and SB116 (“Constitutional Carry”)
  • Greg Klein, a blogger at Red Maryland, comes on to talk about Baltimore: the incident, the riots, and the politics
  • Ron Moore – storm chaser – updates us on weather and climate.  Note: if you liked the last two winters, you have something to look forward too!

GrokTALK! April 25th, 2015 – The Videos

Yes, tech problems this morning galore and as a result, the video from the first segment on GrokTALK! with NH State Rep Max Abramson on a Legislative Update was lost (the livestream cam kept cutting out – sorry Max!). However, we marshalled on and hopefully next week, things will go a bit better.

  • Segment 4a – David Bozell, Executive Director of ForAmerica, comes on to talk about tax reform (and a bunch of other things as we led him down a few other paths)
  • Segment 4b –

So, when Hillary’s NH campaign manager can’t answer issue questions

This is so rich – and typical.  Turns out that Billy Shaheen, the NH Hillary Head Honcho (and husband to the US Federal Government’s Ambassador to NH, Jeanne Shaheen) either hasn’t a clue as to what Hillary actually stands for – or CAN’T.  You decide: Gosh, you’d think that after 30 years on the national … Read more

603 Alliance Grassroot Summit – Mike Rogers and Trevor Loudon

The resurgent talk about the US Constitution’s Tenth Amendment and States’ Rights was the object of Mike Roger’s speech to the crowd, a subject of no little interest lately with the overreach of the current Obama Administration trying to wend its way into every nook and cranny of everyone’s commercial and private lives.  After all, it was the States that created the Federal Government – and not the other way around.  Trevor Loudon come up from down under and this New Zealander speaks about the danger he sees for American with “The enemy within – Marxism” and unlimited illegal immigration (either by de facto or allowed / encouraged by the Obama Administration).

603 Alliance Grassroot Summit – Jessica Vaughn and Fredo Arias-King

Next in line as speakers for the 603 Alliance Grassroot Summit:

  • From the Center for Immigration Studies came Jessica Vaughn (Director of Policy Studies) to talk about, well, immigration.
  • She was followed by Fredo Aria-King, industrialist, who was described to me as a real Renaissance Man for all of the varied projects he is involved in.
