Yvonne Dean Baily on Fox News – UNH Bias-Free Language Guide

UNH has already pulled the Bias-Free Language guide, but not before our own NH House Rep, (And Campus Reform Contributor) Yvonne Dean-Baily was on Fox News to talk about it. http://s3.amazonaws.com/TVEyesMediaCenter/UserContent/283996/5082966.6305/FNC_07-30-2015_07.52.54.mp4

Greater Epping Republicans / NHCCS – 2nd Amendment – Part 1

This past Sunday, GraniteGrok attended a joint presentation by the Greater Epping Republicans and the National Heritage Center for Constitutional Studies.  Nancy Kindler acted as the Master of Ceremonies.  Two speakers were present: NH State Rep David Welch who was dressed in period garb on the topic of Revolutionary War arms 2nd Amendment lawyer Evan Nappen … Read more

Greater Epping Republicans / NHCCS – 2nd Amendment – Part 2

Evan Nappen, national expert on 2nd Amendment law with practices in NH and NJ, came to the podium.  He started off with his own discussion on his Revolutionary War rifle and then riffed onto talking about the 2nd Amendment and the law.  He spoke long – but none of the 55-60 people who turned out … Read more

Proving Andrew Klavan’s “liberals are going fascist” is this gem – Speak with words I don’t want you to say, Government should shut you up

““just not going to call people by their names, and that they’re going to misgender them, just because they can.””

Ah yes, the Liberty provided by the First Amendment to the US Constitution (and, I might add, from our very fine NH Constitution):

[Art.] 22. [Free Speech; Liberty of the Press.] Free speech and liberty of the press are essential to the security of freedom in a state: They ought, therefore, to be inviolably preserved.

So this is supposed to be a foremost guiding principle of our Republic, eh?  Free Speech – the Right to speak your mind, regardless of whether or not you want to listen (you don’t have to), you like it (you don’t have to), or it offends you terribly.  To that last part, tough noogies – not my issue, only your’s.  But this faint hearted Social Justice Warrior (SJW), Danielle Moodie-Mills,  believes she her values of what is right can trump my Right to free speech.

Yeah, that’s fascism:

Did you know there’s a NEW crime against Political Correctness?  Misgendering.  Yup.  Never knew it existed.  But she does and you have to live by it!

CNHT Picnic – NH Families for Education / School Choice NH and the John Birch Society

Like I said, a lot of small organizations laser focused on specific issues here in NH and the march continued at the CNHT Annual Picnic.

  • Two of those came up at the same time:  NH Families for Education and School Choice NH represented by Michelle Levell and Doris Hohensee.  Both on the issue of education and it is easy to see what their overall thrust is – WHO should be in charge of childrens’ education?
  • And a group that has taken a lot of grief over the decades, the John Birch Society, was represented by Bill McNulty.  Concentrating on the Constitution and our governance by it, it is clear that their major concerns have come true – under Obama, we have almost become a post-Constitutional nation.  Given that, and the complete disdain for its check-and-balance philosophy, they can say “hey, we warned you”.

CNHT Picnic – 603 Alliance and NH Right To Live

Continuing on!  One of the nice things about the CNHT Annual Picnic is that the myriad of group on the Conservative side of the aisle (both politically and morally).

  • A new force in NH that recently came on the scene is the 603 Alliance which is pushing the idea of gathering behind a conservative candidate in the FITN primary – they are tired of seeing good conservative candidates fail and lose when a squish splits the vote and wins.  They will be holding a round robin caucus for conservatives to rally around a single candidate and return the favor towards the moderates.
  • Certainly we know that the NHRTL has been a force to reckon with here in NH in protecting the rights of the children-in-process.  And as we saw in the US Senate race back in November, cross them like Scott Brown did and their followers will cross YOU off their ballot.

Diane Bitter for the 603 Alliance

and for NHRTL, Kurt Wuelper:

CNHT Picnic – NH Liberty Alliance and Claremont Citizens for Lower Taxes

One thing about NH is that there are all kinds of advocacy and educational groups of just about any issue people are talking about.  No, not generally all that large but they are passionate about what they do and what they are about.

  • On the political side is the NH Liberty Alliance – a group dedicated for keeping our elected politicians on the straight and narrow on legislation that speaks to OUR freedom as individuals (as opposed to giving Government less shackles which generally diminishes our liberty).  Paul Best does the representing
  • On the taxation side comes Cindy Howard for the Claremont Citizens for Lower Taxes.  Coming from a section of NH that is as liberal (e.g., spend, spend, spend!) as any other in the country, she and her group fights for the little guys for whom life is harder than the elites and for those who aren’t part of the politically connected.

Media Racism?

c/o of the Media Research Center and MRCTV, we’ve got this (awesome) mashup of media clips and the question, “Have you ever thought the media was trying to divide us, but couldn’t put your finger on how?” Take a minute and see if you can figure it out…

GrokTV: 2016 Presidential Primary – Donald Trump

Finally, I didn’t have to travel to an event this past Thursday – one in my own backyard about 15 minutes from Chez Skip.  Donald Trump, now leading nationally in the polls, flew in on his Citation bizjet to hold an event at the Weirs Community Center in Weirs Beach at Laconia, NH.  I have seen estimates of between 200-500 inside (my guesstimate was more akin to 250-300 in standing room only) but reports of 3X that outside.  First, he addresses the crowd:

Then he took a couple of questions:

20 Bike Pile Up in Tour de France

I have never watched nor do I care about the Tour de France. I’d rather watch grass grow. But a 20 bike pile-up? That’s something you don’t see every day. A number of people were seriously hurt–watch the video, how could they not be–including the race leader who had to withdraw due to severe back injuries … Read more

What Makes America Different?

“Is America really that great? Or is the United States just like any other nation? Outsiders tend to be the best judge of character, and Nick Adams, a best-selling Australian author and political commentator, gives an outsider’s view of the USA.”
