It’s been a while since I last opined on the partisan nature of the Coffee Party (and the NH franchise in particular).   But an NHCoffeeParty tweet did pass before mine eyes on this chilly December morn… and it smelled faintly of progressive rhetoric.   A quick review of the tweet history proved a point that the NH Coffee Party facebook page confimred.

Everything I saw sources back to Democrat talking points.  It all supports left-wing rhetoric.

The Coffee Party is still nothing more than a Progressive mouth-piece selling itself as something centrist and someone has tried to jump start this Norweigan Blue in support of the Democrat machine–just in time for the 2014 election season.

At a recent town Hall Meeting a constituent asked her about “BenGhazi.” Representative Kuster responded, “I am here to talk about the Middle East not Ben Ghazi.” GOOD FOR HER! Way to go, Annie…We all know you have never met Ben Ghazi…You have never had a conversation with Ben Ghazi and you don’t know what his position on social policy is, much less Middle East diplomacy. THE NERVE OF THAT WOMAN TO ASK SUCH A QUESTION!   

Update- There was something Fishy and Gamey about the Canoe Tax reported by the Eagle Tribune.  We’ve been informed that there is no such bill.  (Details on the jump- below my original post.)

I’ve been watching this news filter through social media, and I read Skip’s post about it earlier, and my mind began to wonder as I read this from the Eagle

Traditionally, the agency has been self-sustaining, paying expenses almost entirely out of the fees charged for hunting, fishing and other licenses and permits.

But the number of people buying hunting and fishing licenses has been declining for a decade, reflecting a nationwide change in recreation habits. But as fewer people take up the gun and the rod, who’s going to pay for Fish and Game services, not to mention the salaries and benefits of agency employees?

If the reason for declining revenue is fewer people engaging in the activity for which Fish and Game exists why do they need more money and not less?  And why do we need to do with less to pay the tax so Fish and Game, whose mandate is in decline, can have more?

…and seeing a beaming Harry Reid and Obama on the other side of the counter.  After all, by not fighting hard and not throwing sand into the gear works, Democrats have now flipped the ideological bent of the DC Court of Appeals with Reid’s nuking of the filibuster – Obama will probably not have to worry at all about suits against Obamacare regulations (or anything else) as it is the locked door to the Supreme Court.

And now, the ONE item that actually implemented the idea of “limited government” – the sequester – has been blown up with the “news” of the micro-Grand bargain of US Rep. Paul Ryan (R) with the uber-Progressive Patty Murray.  Could you praise her any more, Paul?  Bipartisanship is not giving up the only real  achievement that the Rs were able get that actually reduced spending – it’s a cave-in as nothing of real value was gained in return.  Future leverage, from the scant details available thus far (but don’t sound good), has also been removed.  No long term restructuring of entitlements, of the “non-discretionary” programs – and $20 billion “reduction” (in the realm of a $4 Trillion annual budget) isn’t even worth spitting on.

All for the sake of “no government shutdown” (PLEASE, DON’T CALL US BAD NAMES ANY MORE) and “stability” – the same status quo that has given us a $17 Trillion national debt.

Seems like the Lakes Region Planning Commission is distressed about all the “misinformation” being disseminated recently. During a Nov. 20 meeting, directors spouted the need to turn on their public relations machine to “…get the word out…there are efforts to divert the local planning effort for political reasons…those people write prolifically and it’s a misinformation campaign…” Not so much, really. Rather, it is an “education campaign” designed to inform our communities about the truth behind Regional Planning Commissions here in the Granite State. (The meeting can be viewed in its entirety, at www.governmentoversite.com. It’s a doozey of a meeting!)

NH RPCs are also working to come up with even more legislation/rules in Concord. They are now paying a lobbyist, Ms. Nancy Johnson, to lobby legislators on the wonderful benefits of RPCs.

There is a bill in the legislature to implement a fee on Canoes and Kayaks. Not a good thing. In fact, it is a very bad thing. Moreover, such a small fee could actually have a deleterious impact on other areas of the Granite State’s recreational economy. But do also notice there is no outrage or love shown for those who foot the bill… fees paid by the hunters, anglers, trappers and boaters. In essence the canoers and Kayakers have been getting a free ride. That is an observation, not a complaint. (Other than the obnoxious bastards who claim ownership to public boat launches with their kayaks.)

New Hampshire Democrats have managed to provide back-to back national embarrassments in a matter of successive weeks.  First the made for Lifetime Movie Manchester Democrat Peter Sullivan engages in a sexist stiletto-wielding Twitter assault on a woman with a Hispanic sounding name that, were he a Republican would have had CNN, MSNBC, and the Sunday shows (not to mention the poo-flinging press-monkeys in the NH Democrat state party) launching war on women broadsides about binders, contraception, and abortion while femi-nazis dressed up as vaginas wave signs outside the office of every elected Republican on the planet demanding they renounce the offending person, make them take sensitivity training, and then drive them out of office.

Then, along comes the tax challenged, camera grabbing, F-bomb dropping geography expert, Ann “where in the world is  Benghazi, Libya” Kuster (D-NH).

Remember Julia.  Well over at Tumblr they have the Real Life of Julia  and thanks to ObamaCare… Julia’s got problems.  Her insurance was cancelled.  Either her premiums or deductibles (or both) are going to shoot sky high.  And she can’t use her current gynecologist.

Yup, just like the New Gas tax (get it – New Coke!  New Gas Tax?  Hopefully suffers the same death by embarrassment), now we get a new tax on the boats that “Every Man” can afford.  I certainly can’t afford a 45 foot cruiser for whiling away lazy summer days – but I can afford a canoe, a real dinghy (rowboat), sailboat,or kayak (e.g., anything non-motorized).  But now, yet another Republican NH State Senator (Bob Odell, R-Lempster) is proposing that you pay him $10 for each one you want to launch for a couple of lazy hours on the lake.  I imagine that my Eldest (1 canoe, 2 kayaks) ain’t gonna be happy camper.  Steve had the proper response here.  From AFP/NH:

New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today called out a new, proposed $10 fee for all small, non-motorized boats such as canoes, kayaks and rowboats. According to today’s Eagle-Tribune, a bill, sponsored by Senator Bob Odell, would establish this new charge on these watercrafts in order to increase funding to the Department of Fish & Game.

“As the old adage goes, if you want more of something, you subsidize it, and if you want less of something, you tax it,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director. “This new Dinghy Tax would send a clear message that New Hampshire is more interested in growing government than promoting tourism and outdoor activities. Especially for those individuals who might come to our state for the day to row or paddle the Saco or Pemigewasset from Massachusetts, Maine or Vermont, this new tax would rip out the welcome mat, and cost our state millions in lost tourist revenue. This proposal is penny-wise and pound foolish at best and a triumph of short thinking bureaucratic logic.”

Yup, pass it to see what’s in it, eh Madame Pelosi?  Nice to see that this is gonna hit New Hampshire towns and hamlets HARD!  But remember, you all voted in these Progressives – welcome to another agenda item FORWARD!  Once again, our Godlets-in-DC are absolutely convinced that they know what’s best for us out here in the ‘sticks!  Nice to see that not only is Obamacare effectively stripping us of healthcare insurance (what middle class family can afford to shell out $12,700 in deductibles on a $40,000 income?  Effectively, they will HAVE NO insurance).  Now, here’s the next shoe to fall in Obama’s plan to “fundamentally transform America”:

ObamaCare (RACIST!)  increases the cost of care.  If you happen to be one of the folks with a lower premium ObamaCare will probably crank up your deductible and your annual out of pocket costs,  to $10,000.00 or more per year.

There’s nothing affordable about that.

So we can’t keep our plan if we like it, many will not get to keep their doctors or hospitals-even if they like them, and– it is not affordable.   It is the you can’t keep your plan or doctor unaffordable questionable if you will get care act.  So are you ready for another punch in the face?

The New London Police Chief was using his office and his access to young women (mostly from nearby Colby-Sawyer College) to barter with them into posing nude or in lingerie in exchange for  getting their “charges” dropped.  We’ve also learned that he has offered to pay their fines as well in exchange for posing for him.

Given his 27 years on the force I speculated (here and here) that this was probably something he’d been doing for a long time, that he might not have been the only one, and that more women would probably come forward after the first charges were announced; but that he’d get-off and be allowed to collect his pension without a criminal record.

After an ‘extensive’ investigation, the NH AG’s office is letting Seastrand off the hook.  His behavior while abhorrent, is not in their minds criminal.
