A reader emailed me and asked an interesting question. Why doesn’t New Hampshire Democrat Party Communications director Harrell Kirstein “live’ in New Hampshire? I guess they couldn’t find a stick of evidence that he has a–what’s the word–“Presence!’ in the state unless you can count the Democrat Party Headquarters in Concord or all that crying he does to the local press.
Harrell’s domicile status is a very good question — because I couldn’t find any evidence either.
“When you disarm the people, you commence to offend them and show that you distrust them either through cowardice or lack of confidence, and both of these opinions generate hatred. “
Expect Medicaid expansion push from the progressives soon.
The Medicaid expansion issue in New Hampshire is alive and well. The left is gearing up for the fight. The Democrats are active. Also, the corporate George Soros funded MoveOn.org is seeking funds for a leftist push. Yes, that’s the same George Soros who was a Nazi collaborator in his youth who quite happily helped the Nazi’s confiscate property from the Jews and then turned himself into a billionaire leftist through the same system he condemns (don’t believe it, Google his 60 minutes interview with Steve Kroft in 1998). If he’s on their side, you know it can’t be good for New Hampshire, America or any other freedom, liberty loving individual.
This morning I got the following email solicitation from MoveOn.org (yes, I subscribe to their email list… it’s a good way to see what the commi’s and Nazi collaborators are up to).
You see, this former NH GOP Chair and now political mercenary is trying to push HB 474, a Democrat sponsored bill that would have NH Citizens pick up the slack by offering in-state tuition to the kids of illegal aliens. He calls his group “Americans for Choice” – like, there is a choice anywhere in this process for taxpayers?
He decided to harangue Republican legislators – the normal rent-seeking process of a special interest group that takes the easy way of “persuade politicians to open the purse strings”. Like any good Democrat, look to Government FIRST to solve your problem, eh Fergus? But of course – it’s too HARD to do it the right way – form a group and go beg for money from individuals. Knocking on all those doors in your community to ask your neighbors to reach into their pockets to give to you to individually hand out scholarships to these kids?
Naw, too simple. I, of course, had a response to his pitch to pols instead of personally pressing the flesh:

Earned? Simply by crossing OUR border, with the intent of doing it illegally, and being here? Sorry, that’s NOT the definition of the word that I learned in school. Earned meant earnest hard work dong legally – above board and without reproach. A good day’s work, done honestly – that is what the American version of the word has meant. Now, as with many other ideas, we are seeing its redefinition simply to meet a Leftist political agenda.
I keep hearing that word, “earned” – but no Leftist or Progressive has been willing to tell me what THEY mean by it? Cross our border illegally – that’s earned? Live here – illegally – that’s earned? Use the safety net meant for our citizen and legal residents – that’s earned? I don’t understand – how is “earned“?

Speaking exclusively to MSNBC host Ari Melber, Attorney General Eric Holder sharply criticized state-level voter identification policies and said that he believes those policies are a “remedy in search of a problem.” He added that, while some may be arguing for voter ID in good faith, he believes that most are advocating for this policy in order to “depress the vote” of those who do not support the “party that is advancing” voter ID measures.
“I think many are using it for partisan advantage,” Holder said of voter ID.
Or the flip side – can’t vote early and often if you have to show an ID, right? We in the Northern part of NH just had the chance to vote this past in a special election. You want to know something, US Attorney General Eric Holder? I LOVED the idea that I had to show my Government issued ID before my name was check on the Voter Registration list – even though the person on the other side of the table knew who I was. It meant that no one, absolutely NO ONE, could vote for me – and steal my vote.

There is much justified discussion going on in New Hampshire within the Expanded Medicaid debate. For quite a while, the Democratic majority of the House has tried its best to bring Medicaid Expansion into the Granite State. After a long and heated debate, the NH House recently voted to support Medicaid Expansion. The Senate will be next to take up this issue in 2014.
It is important to understand with Medicaid Expansion, you do not have to qualify by being disabled AND financially impoverished as with original Medicaid. Having an approximate income under $35,000 for family of four will put you on the rolls. The question to ask is this: if someone is able to work, would this change in Medicaid, discourage them from looking for employment? It is a viable question – “free” is hard to beat. Medicaid was originally intended as a safety net for those who were unable to work AND poor. This new definition will be a huge challenge for healthcare in any state which joins the expansion.
However, there is another reason to be cautious with Medicaid Expansion.

Remember, we have heard from Progressive for DECADES is that the reason we should give up (in part or in whole) our participation in our own governance is because they PROMISE that the bureaucracy would be absolutely non-partisan in its actions.

They probably won’t promote their 6-inch big hot pastrami sandwich, but the Subway chain of restaurants is partnering with first lady Michelle Obama’s campaign to persuade kids to eat healthier meals.
Subway and the first lady’s office announced a three-year commitment Thursday in support of Mrs. Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign. The sandwich shops will promote efforts aimed at getting children to eat more fruits and vegetables. Subway offers a variety of low-fat sandwiches on its menu, along with choices that probably wouldn’t get the first lady’s approval, such as the six-inch chicken and bacon ranch melt with cheese, which contains 28 grams of fat.

New Hampshire Democrats have been bringing in out of state voters to pad the rolls for a while. But just a few years ago, circa 2008, Michelle Bensignor (NY, PA, MD, DC – but not NH) went to work for the State Democrat party. That’s what is says on her LinkedIn page.

Two were NOT enough – too long of a ride for TMEW and I to just get a couple of folks on camera. So, grabbed a couple more. Actually, one was Pam Tucker so I could get a wee bit better idea of what’s coming up in the NH House and what people should be watching out for. The other was former AFP/NH Exec Dir Corey Lewandowski who has gone on to bigger and better things at Americans for Prosperity and is now watching over 25 other chapters including NH (re: I would guess “Regional Director”).

Two of the hardest working State Reps for Individual Freedom and Liberty were also there last night: JR Hoell and Mark Warden. They have one way of looking at things: where there is a place for a limited government (a status that Progressive Democrats think is akin to anarchy) they always advocate that power removed from Government and handed back to the Individual. I have never known either one to back down from a fight for that outlook either. The word “back benchers” could never be applied to them; they lead from the front.

Last of the micro-interviews was a surprise – I had wandered around to find Mark Warden and found him talking to a few people that I had never seen before – but they certainly knew each other. Of COURSE – FSPers from the Free State Project. No, it is NOT as the NH Dems claim, a cause to take over the State of NH. Rather, let them speak for themselves:
“Do you believe that adults have the right to make their own decisions about their own lives? Do you want to live in a place where adults are treated as adults? Where people take responsibility for their own actions, lives, and dealings with others? Where community is genuine and voluntary? Where your rights are fully respected, provided only that you equally respect the rights of others?”
“…have the right to make their own decisions about their own lives” – THAT’S why the Democrats hate them (and a few Progressive Republicans to boot)! They refuse that silly Statist axiom that only the Collective can make the best decision for the serfs Individual. So when I learned who was in front of me, I had to ask “would you spend a few minutes with GraniteGrok?”. And Carla said yes!
