I just got a strange call – it seems that Jane’s husband was at their old home in Alton doing some “pre-sale” work now that they have moved to Bow Hooksett (my mistake – am ALWAYS geographically challenged).  He watched a maroon Ford SUV (not the Expedition size but more akin to an Explorer or Escape but I do have the license plate number) stop out side and then the lady in the car start taking pictures with a cell phone camera.  The car then went down to the local hardware store, the man got out, went inside, then came out and the car went back to the house where a few more pics seemed to be taken (being in his car, he followed them).  Then the car even made a THIRD swing by….

The man in the car was Alan Glassman, NH GOP Area Vice-Chair that includes Alton.  The ID is quite sure – anyone that goes to Republican events knows the slightly built man with the big 35mm camera.  The woman with him seen taking the pictures remains unidentified.

So, what is going on here?

BELKNAP COUNTY CHAIR DOCUMENTING STOLEN SIGNS?

Earlier today, Friday, August 15, 2014, Alan Glassman, Chair of the Belknap County GOP, was found trespassing at the former Alton home of Jane Cormier, candidate for NH Senate District 16. Mr. Glassman, driving a red Ford SUV with license plate 7289, was seen taking photographs surreptitiously of the home (under repair prior to being placed on the market) and the truck belonging to Jane’s husband, Carlos Martinez. Photographs were taken by Mr. Glassman, or the unidentified female passenger in the front seat, from on the property itself. They then drove to the parking lot of a small hardware store located nearby, where they appeared to be examining the photographs just taken. They returned a second time, slowly passing the home to photograph from across the street. They turned around once more to photograph a 3^rd time, at which time Mr. Martinez was able to positively identify Glassman. Alton Police confirmed that the license plate did indeed belong to Glassman who told police he was “documenting stolen signs.”

Seriously – you watched the video and you can’t tell if you are plastered or not?  True, the first one, maybe not so much.  Second one – dude, you are seriously spinning (and it is SO obvious!) while praying to the political Gods (“Oh God, I promise, promise, promise that alcohol never touch my lips if I get out of this!!!”). S’alright – we got more videos; you’ll have a few more shots (heh!) to see if you were drunk or not.  Stay tuned for tomorrow morning – but I digress.

Playing stoopid is not a strategy – especially when you are saying that while on your knees.  Glad to see, however, that NH State Senator Dave Boutin agrees with me that his performance in the last video was “poor judgment”.  I’m just disappointed that he didn’t contact us at GraniteGrok to discuss – but running to the Establishment mouthpiece for Establishment Republicans makes sense.  Here’s a few snippets of what he said at NH Journal (reformatted a bit, emphasis mine):

My apologies for the Stamford link in my previous post, stating that Democrat Barbara J. Griffin of Goffstown marched in two parades for Joe Lieberman in 2004.  That was not the Democrat we were looking for.   What is not a mistake is that Democrat Barbara J. Griffin of 84 Merrill Road, Goffstown, NH is a Democrat.  Well, she’s been registering and voting as one for years, even ran for office as one.

I don’t think David Boutin was much of a Republican before he got elected to the State Senate but he wasn’t the Democrat.  Over the past year his voting record has demonstrated that he has gone native and can no longer be trusted to protect us from the expansive and intrusive state.

He has come out to apologize for more of the behavior you will see here.  He has said it was bad judgment.  Everyone has judgement issues David.  I’m not all that comfortable posting video of you being an ass in public, if you must know.   But you’ve taken your bad judgement to Concord and that will affect my family, and very family in New Hampshire, perhaps forever.  And for dessert you punched free speech in the throat, very likely to minimize the damage those bad votes could have on your political career.    Bad judgement.  Free political speech is sacred to me, whether I agree with it or not.

I don’t care whose political speech it is.  No one puts Free speech in the corner.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Drug Enforcement Administration paid an Amtrak secretary $854,460 over nearly 20 years to obtain confidential information about train passengers, which the DEA could have lawfully obtained for free through a law enforcement network, The Associated Press has learned.

That’s a lot of money.  $42K per year extra for this Federal Govt employee for, effectively, spying on one government program’s customers to give to another government program.  Our money, too.  But wait, it gets worse….

Well, it is getting closer to Primary Election day and stuff is heating up.  You’ll be seeing the ‘Grok doing more and more election stuff up to the Sept 9, then a lull, and then the last sprint to the General Election in November.  We’ll keep you posted and updated….updated!  Yes, an update is needed!  Last night, I emailed and left a vmail for Gary Lambert (running for the NH GOP nomination for US Congress in NH CD2).  Well, he called around 3pm this afternoon, asking what I was asking for.  Simple: 1)  An apology   2) A notice on his website.

He seemed happy to do the first – a true apology – and he said as much.  A standup guy for doing so. – and I thanked him (meant it, too). The second, well, he stumbled a bit – I think he thought that I figured he’d go right to the website and do it right then.  I laughed: “yes Gary, you’re a lawyer and not a programmer – I know you have to get someone else to do it”.  He sounded relieved but he promised he talk to his folks.

I wrote about the Gilford School Board’s brazen decision to limit the First Amendment Right of Gilford parents to question their elected officials on the School Board (here) by codifying that parents had no right to seek redress of grievances of the Board if  their first step, meeting with the school’s Principal, failed. I also told them, face to face, that they were holding themselves unaccountable by NOT answering questions posed to them during public input – they would only sit there, stonefaced.

I thought it was an isolated event with one school board, but then I saw this on the Cornish School Board (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Cornish — Despite opposition from several Cornish residents, the School Board on Monday passed a resolution revising the board’s policy on public participation, removing language from the old policy that encouraged public input at board meetings.  More than 30 people attended the meeting, and according to Glenn Thornton, vice chairman of the board, the portion of the meeting devoted to the public participation policy went well.  “The chair provided everyone an opportunity to voice their thoughts and opinions freely, and it was very cordial,” Thornton said.

Well, of course it went well – all they had to do is sit there and do nothing.  After all, their business is over and no interaction is unneeded.  Er, there’s someone that disagrees with this?
