From Eye of the Tiger to Soft Kitty lullaby

double-standard-390x250

Anderson Cooper, CNN talking head and host of this week’s first Democratic Presidential Primary debate stated today that CNN will *not* be pitting the Democrat candidates against their on-stage opponents.   He was clear in his explanation that the debate questions will simply help bring out each of the candidate’s positions on certain issues.  Says Cooper:

“I’m always uncomfortable with that notion of setting people up in order to kind of promote some sort of a face off…look, these are all serious people. This is a serious debate. They want to talk about the issues and I want to give them an opportunity to do that.”

Juxtapose this with Jake Tapper’s (also a CNN talking head) approach to the second Republican debate and of course we see the double standard.  There’s more to this than just a simple double standard, though.

Patriots Grumble Thread – Week 5

Hardy Sacks Brady

After their by-week the New England Patriots rolled in to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas prepared for a defense the Cowboy’s didn’t bring. Instead of their traditional 4-3 they switched up to a  3-2, a defense the Patriots had not practiced for; they suffered for it through most of the first-half. Brady was sacked 5 times in the first quarter. But they worked it out. As We Celebrate “Indigenous Peoples’ Day”…

As we celebrate “indigenous Peoples’ Day,” colloquially referred to in some outdated circles as Columbus Day, remember; the same people pushing for “indigenous peoples’ day” (because Columbus Day represents centuries of aggression by undocumented European invaders) demand open borders so that the undocumented Spanish speaking descendants of the Conquistador’s can invade America. Just saying. Another … Read more

If 97% of “Scientists” Agree to Conclusions Based on Models That Can’t Get Anything Right, What Sort of Scientists Are They?

models-vs-datasets

Problems with Climate alarmism abound, not the least of which is the Rosetta stone from which our doomed future is predicated. Computer models.

Instead of saying ‘the pause’ fits with ‘missing energy’ which fits with ‘missing sea-level rises’ the excuses pile on excuses. What happened to the missing seal level rise? Apparently the ENSO effect dumped it on Australia. So sea levels need adjustment too. When the data doesn’t fit, we don’t adjust the model, but we do adjust the data. What bad luck –all the major instruments are cold biased. What are the odds?

Republican Liberty Caucus Straw Poll Results

Straw Poll

Rand Paul collected 445 Votes to win the Republican Liberty Caucus Straw poll this weekend. Ted Cruz Came in second with 399. Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, and Marco Rubio rounded out the top five.

(RLC) The straw poll was conducted using an alternative voting method called “approval voting,” which allows voters to approve of one or more of the current Republican presidential candidates. This method of voting allows voters to indicate the candidate or candidates that they would support if the election were held today. As a preference poll this may produce results where more than one candidate receives over 50% approval.

Full results on the jump.
