It appears the DNC has shot itself in the foot by booting New Hampshire’s biggest TV station – WMUR – from televising the Democrat debate scheduled to be held in the state because of an ongoing labor dispute with the union representing a number of TV station employees. But even if it weren’t banned from carrying the debate, I doubt many will be watching it as the debate starts all of 20 minutes before the kickoff of the New York Jets – Dallas Cowboys game.

Seriously, he’s just got to be funnin’ us all, right?  And I bet he said the same thing about Havenstein and Brown, too:

“Kelly’s support among the Republican grassroots runs deep, and any suggestion to the contrary is obviously false,” said Steve Merrill, a former governor and chairman of Ayotte’s campaign. “She continues to deliver results for our state, and is a strong and capable voice for our party.”

Well, I can say without much agitation that Merrill isn’t talking to the same grassroots that I am – or others like me.  Look, if the flippin’ Concord Monitor is seeing that not all is well in the NH GOP, there’s a problem.  Really Steve, Kelly Ayotte voting to raise the cost of our standard of living (voting for the “screw you, free market” bill that mandates efficiency) on one hand, and as the piece points out, siding with Obama on his Clean Power Plan that will increase the cost of electricity on the other hand – thanks for the pincer movement, Kelly!  And by supporting her, it seems that Steve Merrill thinks that the poor will be just dandy with this…

Sighingly, I have to say that for many Republican politicians, that’s the part of the meme they either forget or wish that WE would forget.  However, more and more, the utter disdain and the [political] sins that many of the Republican “leadership” have participated in are, as Rev “G-D America” Wright used to say, coming home to roost.  Nationally, we see the outsiders (e.g., Trump, Cruz, Carson) far outstripping the Establishment approved Prez candidates.  The base is ignoring what the Party bosses want us to do.  Why?

They’ve shown that they take the base for granted. “Support the Party – look what the Dems have done” – and then vote to raise the national debt, and support other Obama policies (right, Kelly Ayotte). “Vote for us, we Conservative Republicans” – and then pass Medicaid Expansion (right, Jeb Bradley?).  Speaking of supporting Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion, Democrat appointed NH Speaker of the House Shawn Jasper is now showing that he is truly bought and paid for; from the UL (reformatted, emphasis mine):

 Reauthorizing the NH Health Protection Program or Medicaid expansion is one of the top issues for the upcoming session. Medicaid expansion is also the first salvo in the already-begun race for House Speaker, even though the general election is nearly a year away. Rep. Laurie Sanborn, R-Bedford…is campaigning for the House’s top post, although House Speaker Shawn Jasper has already said he will seek to maintain the title.

On Friday she said a number of people have approached her about running for the Speaker’s post. “A number of people are concerned about the Speaker’s policy positions,” Sanborn said. “If you want a conservative liberty oriented representative who shows respect for everyone in the House, I would be that candidate.”

Yahoo! has an article from AP bemoaning the number of moderate Republicans in the primary race. There is concern that with all these neutered, spineless GOPers vying for votes the party might have to suffer someone who actually defends the values documented in the party platform or (God forbid!) the Constitution. Well, they didn’t say that exactly, but that’s the truth.

You know the song “Let There Be Peace on Earth”? I know it as well as you know something you were required to sing in elementary school, because I was. All those adorable little voices chiming in for world peace. But even in liberal New Jersey, we sang it with the original lyrics. Those lyrics include these words: “With God as our father, brothers all are we.” Apparently, that was too religious for Microsoft, which has produced a holiday (!) TV commercial featuring new young piping voices singing the song, but the lyrics referring to God are gone.

Really? Is that the point American culture has reached, that a Christmas video from a major corporation scrubs God from the song?

That would be “insult the base, lose”.  John Kasich keeps saying that Trump can’t win – like this Sununu-anointed pol can, running single digits in the polls against Trump’s double digits and Lindsey Graham relegated to the “little kids” debate table?  Methinks that insulting ANY Republican and losing their vote would be, interestingly enough, a losing proposition.  But Graham goes there, and almost (??) throws the race card (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says GOP front-runner Donald Trump is doing so well in the polls because nearly half of Republican primary voters think President Obama is a Kenyan-born Muslim.   “Well there’s about 40 percent of the Republican primary voter who believes that Obama was born in Kenya and is a Muslim,” Graham told Boston Herald Radio on Friday, according to BuzzFeed News.

Yeah, click bait.  Once in a while, it’s a blogger’s guilty pleasure, but not quite a field to far to go on this one – this mal-spawned hot mess of the grandson of Kyoto.  Fifty thousand attendees carboning it up just to demand that we all carbon down.  And their tactics are quite familiar – from RedState, a great explanation why we call them Watermelon environmentalists (emphasis mine):

Like Stalinists before them, environmental elite wish to purge society of capitalists, anyone who challenges them, and free market ideas. Like communists before them, they wrap themselves in a moral banner for war — against rising sea levels, against drought, against all sorts of things no right thinking person could be against.

And like the communists of old, the environmentalists also love their five year plans.
