NHPR has the “Facts” But Not the Story?

NHPR Out of state ID-voter mapHere is how NHPR starts out a voter fraud expose.

“While President Trump and some of his allies perpetuate the (unverified and unsubstantiated) idea that out-of-state voters are being sent across the border en masse to throw New Hampshire elections, we were wondering: What can we actually know about the people who are showing up to register for the first time on Election Day?”

In this obviously biased NHPR story, there is a link to a file showing how many voters used an out of state driver’s license to vote in NH.

Portsmouth Looking at Plastic Bag Ban Again- Council Meeting Tonight.

Portsmouth

The Portsmouth, New Hampshire City Council is meeting tonight for the second reading of a proposal to ban plastic bags in the city council chamber, City hall, starting at 7 pm. This is not the Council’s first dance with a proposed bag ban. Back in the spring of 2015 a Blue Ribbon Committee on Sustainable Practices, headed by Bert Cohen, proposed a similar ban that was eventually dropped. The City came to the conclusion that it did not have the authority under state law.

The legislature recently rejected enabling legislation, but Portsmouth is plowing ahead none the less.

Data Point – Trump is “gutting the Federal budget”?

media bias herding leftFrom The Corner, a two-fer: biased journalists and the “cuts” (emphasis mine):

Issie Lapowsky at Wired has an interesting piece on Ro Khanna’s proposal to radically expand the earned-income tax credit. Lapowsky writes that this will be difficult to do, because “the Trump administration is gutting the federal budget.”

Setting aside the fact that tax laws are written by Congress and not by the White House, the Trump administration’s budget proposal contains a 1.2 percent spending cut to the discretionary budget, i.e. a 1.2 percent cut to a portion of the budget that amounts to less than one-third of federal spending. A 1.2 percent cut to 29 percent of federal spending is not “gutting the federal budget” under any plausible interpretation of those words by a reasonably literate English-speaking person.

Guest Post – Dan Itse: Christianity is not Socialism

Christian CrossI sought this consent today to apologize. To apologize for not having a ready answer. For the record, I will be mentioning the Bible, but only because someone else brought it up first. Back when we were debating SB 302, I commented to a fellow representative that I would probably vote for it, if only because I saw it as a chance to roll back socialism, at least a little bit. He challenged me with words to the effect of, “whats wrong with socialism, doesn’t society have an obligation to take care of those in need.” On another prior occasion a representative said to me that Christianity was socialist. In neither case did I rebut these as I ought to have, so it is at least partially in penance that I am here before you today.

First, NO Christianity is not socialist. It is based entirely upon personal responsibility. While, first century Christians often lived in a communal manner, it was voluntary. Socialism and communism are never

Puerto Rico: Willing to openly EXTORT other States to save itself? Second extortion letter

Puerto Rico flagPedro Cerame: Pedro, Pedro, Pedro – a second attempt at extortion (first one here)?  Really?  Is this the result of a failure on that first attempt – none of the Governors were impressed? Shouldn’t you know that threatening other States’ elected officials and their budgets is childish at best and thuggish in reality?  Doing it AGAIN shows that either YOU are crooked or that your CULTURE is – or both. Last time you only threatened Governors and their budgets; your Sword of Damocles was the threat of your citizens fleeing your State and going right onto THEIR doles.

Sidenote: it seems that the idea that your citizens, already on your dole, would move to become the wards of another State is…..puzzling.  Shouldn’t your efforts, instead of threatening others, be oriented in making PR a business powerhouse?  Or is that also a function of your culture?

This says a lot about your State and not just that the Federal money is about to run out (guess you didn’t pay much heed to Margaret Thatcher warning) that it has no problem in ruining others’?  What does this say about the morality of your leadership team (aka, your boss)?

This time, you decided to make it more personal – the most inflammatory ‘graphs are here:

…”We are here to alert you, the Orlando-area Puerto Rican community and all Florida taxpayers, about this important issue and the impact it will have on you, your neighbors, and perhaps your family members still living on the island,” said Secretary of State Rivera. “if not addressed soon, it will contribute to increasing the already high migration from Puerto Rico and cause severe strain on the Florida and federal budgets.”

Let’s Get Real About New Hampshire Voter Fraud

NH1 News seems to be the only statewide media, other than bloggers, interested in the possible loss of a US Senate seat to voter fraud.

Finally, Secretary of State William Gardner is beginning to open the door to the possibility of voter fraud affecting statewide elections in NH. It is a breakthrough even though the numbers he uses are not what they seem.

Let us take a look at this one paragraph about the 6,000 General Election voters who somehow showed up in person to vote in a statewide election – but did not happen to have any legitimate identification on their person.

Civil War – when the Left/Democrats can’t even support our own Law?

The Left screams about “cultural appropriation” all the time – but why do they throw OUR culture away any time it collides with another?

Shades of Ruth Bader-Ginsburg writ small and sideways. All over the Right side of the blogosphere I keep hearing whispers “are we heading towards a civil war”? It is quite obvious that this nation is split and I would agree that the crevice is becoming a chasm.  The Right is going back to our American roots (e.g., the Constitution and the philosophy underpinning it) and the Left is insistent on adhering on latching on to foreign political ideas (again, what IS the difference between Democrats and Socialists).  Our moralities are different (Judeo-Christian vs “if it feels good / anything BUT Judeo-Christian), our sense of independence / dependency is incompatible, our outlook on The Proper Role of Government are in different galaxies, and now – our Law (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Montana Democrats Vote Against Bill Banning Sharia Law, Call It ‘Repugnant’

Democrats in Montana have opposed a bill banning the use of foreign law in its state courts on the grounds that such legislation would target Muslims. Senate Bill 97, introduced by Keith Regier (R-Kalispell) bans the application of foreign law in Montana’s courts, with the debate particularly focused on Sharia Law, a form of Islamic law typically used in the Middle East.

Although the bill passed on party lines by 56-44, Democrats claimed it was designed to target Muslim communities.

Obama Era School Meddling Results in Increased Violence, Drug Use, and Gang Activity.

This is a familiar refrain. Social engineers suggest a policy prescription and share their blueprint with the public. But the actual results are something entirely different.

In today’s example, Obama’s Department of Education decided that too many public school suspensions were discriminatory. They targeted black students.

From Walter Willimas, writing at The Daily Signal,

According to former Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan, the “huge disparity is not caused by differences in children; it’s caused by differences in training, professional development, and discipline policies. It is adult behavior that needs to change.”
