A list of Companies that Have Cut NRA Discounts After Parkland

cavedThe following companies caved to liberal pressure by blaming the NRA because the NRA is something the left can blame. Lord knows you can’t blame all those bits and pieces of government that failed. The state and federal safety net the progressives insist are more than adequate after they disarm us.

They actually mean “enough to protect them from us,” but that’s a story for another day.

Here’s the list of companies that have dropped NRA deals (so far):

*Delta Air Lines: The company axed discounted rates for NRA members.

[Updated] Why Does Gilmanton, NH Have an Ordinance Prohibiting Political Signs?

Welcome-to-Gilmanton.jpg.opt924x1197o0,0s924x1197

[Updated]

The town of Gilmanton, New Hampshire appears to be violating first amendment protections for political speech.

A New Hampshire town building inspector has asked property owners to take down signs suggesting selectmen don’t support the police, saying the messages appear to violate an ordinance against political signs.

Letters were sent to private property owners regarding signs that said, “We support Gilmanton Police Even if the Selectmen Don’t.”

Lame Duck Carol Shea-Porter Signs on To Latest “Assault Weapons” Ban

Mass shootings 1992-2016Democrat New Hampshire district one congressmember Carol Shea-Porter has signed on as a co-sponsor of a bill to ban “assault weapons.”

In a press release, she said that “gun massacres” increased by 183 percent after the federal ban expired in 2004. “One law can’t stop every mass shooting, but we can make them less deadly and less frequent,” she said. “These weapons of war were designed for military use and have one purpose: to kill lots of people quickly and easily. We need to take action now.”

As usual, she’s misleading.

Who Enabled Nikolas Cruz to Get a Gun Legally?

Apart from the shooter, the real culprits in the Parkland shooting are the people with the responsibility and the authority to protect the school and the public.  Prompted by self-interest and leftist ideology, the Sheriff and School Administrators conspired to ignore increasingly serious criminal offenses by students in order to claim great strides in improving student behavior.  As a result of these intentional actions the public was subject to increasingly more severe student committed crimes, student criminals weren’t punished and became emboldened, mentally disturbed students weren’t treated, and taxpayers were defrauded.

The NRA – A convenient scapegoat for the BSO

nraIt was American author Frank Herbert who once wrote, “Reason is the first victim of strong emotion.”

In the aftermath of the massacre in Parkland, Florida, the survivors and those traumatized by the killings, directly or indirectly, could not be expected to objectively and rationally debate the issue of guns in America. Yet it was they who filled the audience of what was billed as a town hall meeting, an open debate on the gun issue. It was, in fact, a CNN-sponsored anti-gun rally.

On center stage was anti-gun activist, Scott Israel, Sheriff of Broward County, along with Dana Loesch, representing the NRA.

Notable Quote – Jeffrey Folks

A long quote on the heart of Liberalism and why they hate us and the lives we have chosen for ourselves (emphasis mine).

*************

Do they really hate ordinary people that much?

Yes, they do.  For liberals, the distinction between the “dumb masses” and their enlightened selves renders life meaningful.  Disdain for ordinary folks is not just an ancillary trait of liberalism.  It is fundamental to the its nature.

At its heart, liberalism is a gnostic religion, and the essence of that religion is the believer’s faith that he possesses the means of changing the world for the better.  The belief that the world must be changed requires there to be a mass of individuals whose lives are in need of change.  Following this logic, it is the liberal, not those deplorables in need of change, who knows what must be changed.  For liberals, there must be a mass of people in need of this knowledge for life to make sense.

Above all, liberalism is a hubristic faith.  Its followers share the fatal flaw of pride in their own intellectual capacity.  This is why liberalism appeals so strongly to those in the knowledge trades: teachers, journalists, writers, psychologists, and social workers. The sense of “knowing more than others” is its strongest attraction – particularly to the young, who otherwise know so little.  Liberalism confers, or seems to confer, almost immediate power and authority to those who embrace it.

Notable Quote – Bonchie

OK, tonite, I’ve got nuttin – but there’s a lotta folks out there that do.  From RedState, Bonchie points out that the Left’s claim to “right to be safe”, especially those of the teen survivors from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School murders that have gone full political, is sheer nonsense. Emphasis mine:

********************

There is no right to public safety. There are laws which seek to provide that environment, but you can not have a right to something which relies on the positive action of others for it to be exercised. This is the same reason there can never be a right to healthcare. Not because it’s not a noble goal, but because we don’t have a right to force a doctor to treat us.

Even then, it’s not really true that public safety is a primary core function of the constitution. I’m guessing he’s taking that from the often misused general welfare clause, but in noway does that line empower the government to override individual rights. The Bill of Rights supersedes any law or action the government may enact.

I don’t think Chris Cillizza even gets the concept that he “quotes”

A “good guy with a gun” runs towards the sound of the fight – not cowering under cover when innocents are being killed.  If Scot Peterson is Cillizza’s idea of a “good guy”, he’s purely lying for ideological purposes.  A “good guy” ACTS! (H/T: Instapundit)

‘I guess “Enterprise Cares” only for the fascist left.’

SimpliSafe logoAs to be expected, the Left is not letting a crisis go to waste.  They’ve marshalled their forces for the regular emotional political shove that I’ve been watching for years and combining it with “it’s for the children”.  And part of the regular S.O.P for Progressives:

  • Work to silence the opposition by any means possible
  • Hurt them financially

Obama, Democrats, and DACA Created the Opioid Crisis

It’s no secret that I think the opioid crisis is an excuse to grow the bureaucratic state. With frequent references to the work of Theodore Dalrymple, I’ve tried to warn legislators and citizens that budgets will be blown in the name of ‘doing something‘ to create a sprawling government infrastructure whose addiction to your tax … Read more

‘Remember, when it comes to “gun control,” the important word is “control,” not “gun.”‘

Trump should tweet something anti-gunAs seen on FB (emphasis mine):

Here are some interesting facts (in case you accidentally find someone interested in such things):

There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.000000925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:

• 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
• 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
• 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – gun violence
• 3% are accidental discharge deaths

So technically, “gun violence” is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Well, first, how are those deaths spanned across the nation?
