Please Consider Me When Going to the Polls on September 13, 2022

Op-Ed

I am Kristine Perez from Londonderry, District 16, running for State Representative. I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a retired RN. I am a State Delegate and was very disappointed in the number of Delegates and Representatives that participated in the NH GOP platform meeting in the Spring.

I am a founding member of a significant 2A group with strong church involvement. I was also on the Hollis/Brookline School Board. I have been called a “Solid Conservative” and have been all my life. One of the nicest compliments that I have received in recent years is that I am “the most Patriotic person” they know. I love “God, Family, Country, and Community,” to quote a dear friend running for Senate.

I want CHANGE and TRANSPARENCY for the residents of this great town and State. Constituents have a right to know and a say in what Bills are being sponsored by their Representatives and how they will impact their community.

I have asked every year for the past eight years for the elected representatives to have an “open forum” in town before sponsoring Bills to see exactly what was important to the residents. They have refused to state that the “Dems” will come! So what I ask? They may have ideas as well! This needs to CHANGE! I will have that “open forum” even if I must have it without others.

We want to thank Kristine Perez for this Op-Ed. If you have an Op-Ed or LTE

I believe the parents have Rights before anyone else in all aspects of their children’s lives. Parental Rights in education and health should not be mandated by the State. I have been an advocate for the Parents of Londonderry for the past 18 months, attending meetings and speaking on their behalf.

I have used my healthcare knowledge to research so that facts were presented. I am proud of these parents but disappointed in the State Legislature and the Governor. These children are our future and deserve the absolute best education highlighted with Math, Science, English, and truthful History. These basics are the building blocks for success.

The electoral process in New Hampshire is frightening to me. In 2016, I personally took pictures of 19 state license plates with occupants going in to vote in Londonderry in only 45 minutes. I reported this to the Attorney General’s Office with no response.

Representative Al Baldasaro and I interviewed with a filming company out of New York on the subject, but it was never aired, as far as I am aware. Gee, Not surprised! When my local Representatives are pushed on this issue, they say, “we have to take baby steps.” I say ask for the farm and only compromise when necessary! If we have to worry about a Governor signing, then maybe there is another CHANGE that needs to be made.

Let’s talk electricity.

How much are our rates going up? Well back on February 22nd, one of Londonderry’s State Reps, who is also on the Energy and Technology Committee, told our Town Council that Londonderry will experience “brownouts” and possible “blackouts” in 2023! He was there with Eversource representatives. He stated that the use of natural gas to produce electricity has gone from 18% in 2000 to 50% in 2022.

The renewable energy sources that are being introduced are years away from completion, and decisions not to allow pipelines are the major contributors to this problem. The energy companies’ lack of planning is the issue, not the voters. It was emphasized that this will occur and is just a matter of when. Where were you, State Representative?

Why aren’t our Reps trying to make companies do what is right for the residents of Londonderry? Why is this coming to the residents in the form of “get ready”? Where was the information going to the residents before the Pipeline was doomed, letting us know that this could happen? I consider this a lack of TRANSPARENCY that needs to be addressed.

I pledge if elected to write monthly letters in the Londonderry Times to keep my constituents in the know.

Please consider me when going to the polls on September 13, 2022.
