Tell Your Reps: Why Yes, I Do Want to Die on the Hill of Women’s Sex-Based Rights

NH Bill HB1180, relative to state recognition of biological sex, has a very simple purpose, to give an opening for a state agency or other public entity to be able to segregate based on biological sex.

Governor Sununu has signed laws that are targeted at obliterating the differences between men and women. This bill would give state agencies the legal cover for keeping prisons segregated by sex, as well as sports and areas of intimate privacy.

As expected, the men’s rights activists are pushing back very hard, claiming that this erases transgender people. But what about women? The word “woman” has lost its meaning now that it is used to refer to men who identify as women. We are being erased and protecting what rights we have left in this state is the hill I want to die on. I am inviting you to join me.

Please contact your state reps ASAP. The vote on HB1180 by the full NH House could come as early as Tuesday, March 15.

Please ask your reps to vote against the committee recommendation of Ought to Pass with Amendment, which drastically weakens the bill, and then vote Ought to Pass for the bill with the original language.
