Did Maggie Hassan Say The Right Thing for the Wrong Reason?

Maggie Hassan US Senate

I’m on lots of Democrat email lists in various ways. Maggie “The Red” Hassan is no different. So this caught my eye: “$1 today is worth more than $1 next year.”

With the Democrat policies now in place, we’re seeing inflation (“Bidenflation”) now running at rates not seen in 40 years.  She’s absolutely correct – a dollar today IS going to be worth much more today than next year.  And with her support for President Asterisk’s Build Back Better trillion-dollar deficit disaster, it’s only going to get even worse.

Much worse. Democrats try to ignore fundamental economic Law (which cannot be canceled or edited) hoping their words and emotions would paper that over. Or Ideology trumps Sanity.

So, Maggie is giving out true advice – just not the way she thought:

Can you read this really quick, Folks?

New Hampshire was the closest Senate race in the country in 2016.

Maggie won her race, beating a far-right GOP incumbent and flipping this seat by 1,017 votes — less than half a point. In campaigns, we call that a field margin, where the winner of a close race depends on getting on the ground early and talking to every voter we can.

In 2022, all eyes will be on New Hampshire. With the Senate majority riding on this seat and Mitch McConnell already spending BIG to try to flip the majority, we’re in for another close race.

That’s why it’s so important for us to reach our early fundraising targets like tonight’s weekend goal. A dollar today makes a bigger impact than it will in a month because it will allow us to invest in the campaign infrastructure we need to win. We need your help: can you chip in $5 or more before midnight tonight to build the groundwork to defend our Senate majority?

So she believes your dollar sent to her NOW is worth more than you keeping that dollar to yourself.

I also had to chuckle at the “a far-right GOP incumbent and flipping this seat by 1,017 votes“; a roundabout way of mentioning Kelly Ayotte.

I kept chuckling (but not for long) that Maggie could, with a straight face, call Kelly a “far-right” politician.  As we have remarked on a number of occasions, while she was fine for the first year (Conservative but not hard-core), once she hooked up with Maverick McCain, she drifted leftward. You know, towards Scott Brown neighborhood (who famously boasted that near the end of his term, he was voting with Democrats far more than he was his own Party – go figure).

Stopped clock and all that.
