The tentacle of the Chinese Communist Party that “regulates” what people in that nation see on television has announced that broadcasters must “resolutely put an end to sissy men and other abnormal esthetics,”
Broadcasters should avoid promoting “vulgar internet celebrities” and admiration of wealth and celebrity, the regulator said. Instead, programs should “vigorously promote excellent Chinese traditional culture, revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture.”
… Broadcasters should avoid performers who “violate public order” or have “lost morality,” the regulator said. Programs about the children of celebrities also are banned.
China is also heavily (re)regulating the internet and children’s access to video games.
Does any of this sound familiar? Top-down cultural mandates. National control of communications and infrastructure. Limiting access, controlling content.
In the US Democrats demand you embrace their ideas about morality. Disagreeing is not acceptable. They want to manage internet content from DC. Use state power to enforce the regime’s demands is essential. So while morality differs the tyranny remains the same.
This is also true of Islamofascism, another supremacy ideology.
And while Islamofascism is morally extreme in the other direction compared to America and the West getting a ruling class Dem to denounce, that is a rare find. They are more inclined to defend Moderate Muslims and Islam in general than denounce the products of extremist cultures that thrive within it. A gimme they are unwilling to embrace when it comes to Americans.
But it’s all the same tyranny, more recently manifest in far too many western countries as public health fascism.
The morality angle is not the issue so much as the abuse of power used to enforce it. The governing body defines the culture and will brook no other. We see it here in the tendency to compel speech and behavior. You will let men use the ladies’ room, even though predatory men will abuse that to sexually assault your mothers, sisters, wives, or daughters.
You will learn and use preferred pronouns.
It’s all the same totalitarianism.
But what happens when these cultures collide?
If history is any guide, the sissy-men get their asses kicked.
