Crime and Punishment

Ever since Obama and Dems opened the southern border, states like New Hampshire and Vermont have seen the rise of the only real public health threat in the last decade, opioid drug addiction and overdose deaths. With it came crime and a rise in gang violence.

This is a direct result of Democrat policy being revised under Biden. As I’ve noted often, and as recently as this morning, the two are not severable, and you can’t address one without the other. And while crime is still very low ’round these parts, the “cities” in both states are beginning to see troubling signs.

The drug cartels and their gangs are making their presence felt beyond the drug addiction and over does deaths.

John Klar, writing at True North Reports, has a great breakdown of the problem in Vermont.

As progressives push to “decarcerate” Vermont, opioid deaths increase. Residents may have noticed steady reports of out-of-state fentanyl and heroin dealers being apprehended in Vermont, often associated with well-organized and extremely violent inner city gangs who also traffic in guns, sex workers (including children), and anything else that makes a profit. Progressives eclipse the real crisis of a steady influx of society’s most dangerous and malicious capitalists — drug gangs and related cartels.

Read it and weep because we’ve got a similar problem on our side of the Connecticut River. Our Democrats, incapable of admitting their own policies, have created and exacerbated the problem are committed to making them worse. They openly embrace defunding the police, eliminating bail, and releasing violent criminals into our towns and cities.

Manchester has been in decline for several years under the indifferent eye of Democrat Joyce Craig. That city represents a significant crime problem and may be the only political jurisdiction in the state with a crime rate above the national average.

Klar’s got quotes and details about cities in Vermont like Burlington, Rutland, Bennington, and Newport. Hubs of crime that threaten more than the cities in which they are operating.

Democrats only see it as an opportunity to accumulate political capital, but Klar takes them to the woodshed.

Vermont is suffering from a race crisis — the ideologically perverted progressive push to slander Vermont police as racist, Vermont farmers as having used sharecropping laws to oust black Vermont farmers, and alleged genocide against “Native Peoples.”

The “native people” of Vermont are living here now, being scolded by colonizing thugs who pave the way for urban gangs and cheap drugs, to rape pillage and plunder the clueless and naive. And if Dajuan and his BIPOC Detroit associates are incarcerated in Vermont, their race will then be used to allege Vermont’s police and justice system are racist — as proved by the increase in black inmates.

The game is only rigged if you yield the narrative. Democrat crime and immigration police are directly responsible for destroying lives and families of all races and origins. And it’s a problem that only gets worse if we let the Left have their way.
