Left and Right. We hear these terms daily, but what do they really mean? The terms come from the French Revolution. In 1789, before the overthrow of the King, the National assembly was literally divided.
Supporters of the King sat to his right, the Revolutionaries to his left. The political spectrum is usually depicted as a linear graph, left to center to right, with labels showing where each political belief lies on the graph.
I’m afraid I have to disagree with this ordering. Fascism is a variation on communism, where a business controls government instead of vice versa. But even in Soviet communism, there were aspects of fascism, as all the major industries ended up in the ownership or control of the Politburo elite. From here forward, I will refer to both systems as Totalitarian.

I believe a better linear depiction would be like below. I actually believe Republicans are the Center, but I’m no graphics wizard.
I disagree with linear depictions of the political spectrum because I believe it is actually a wheel. You may note first off that I have Republicans Left of Center. That is because the Republican establishment IS Left of Center; they are Socialism light, acquiescing to almost every Democrat disaster. Offering token resistance, then folding like a lawn chair.
You may then note I place MAGA to the Right of Center.
MAGA is the Republican rank-and-file, We The People. We are going county by county, taking back the Party from RINO’s, Neo-Cons, and an increasingly revealed number of crypto-Democrat sleeper agents. Before 2022, We The People will drag the Establishment GOP, RNC, and Congressional leadership, kicking and screaming, back over to the right side of the wheel or replace them at the polls.
There is a reason why I depict it as a wheel.
Anarchy always brings a Strongman/King to power. He can solidify his power and prosper, fall to a cabal that then functions as a communist or fascist unit, or fall back into Anarchy, for the long climb back to a stable society on the Right Side of the wheel.
Communism usually leads to a Supreme Leader. Back to the strong man. Sometimes there are peaceful transitions from Totalitarianism, Russia being the most recent example. More often, it flips over to anarchy, the Middle East being the recent example.
Libertarianism is a fine idea, but there is a problem. The US population is neither educated nor moral enough to peacefully coexist in a Libertarian society.
If we were educated as well as we were 60 years ago, maybe. I tried answering the questions on a Civics test my mother took in 1952, with current information. I could only answer 36 of the 100 questions. That shocked me. I bet these days you don’t see this stuff unless you are taking Constitutional Law 101.
The political spectrum, in my opinion, runs from Anarchy (complete personal freedom) on the Right, Republicanism in the true Center, and Totalitarianism on the Left. Like a clock, the dial can swing all the way around and quickly, in some cases.
I believe a Constitutionally limited Republic is the best balance of law versus personal freedom. While we were moral, educated people, we prospered, but American Exceptionalism is dead. It was deliberately murdered to make it easier to merge us into an immoral global government. F
or 100 years, our politicians have diluted the checks and balances of the Republic. The Tyranny of Democracy is nearly upon us. Why Tyranny? In a true Democracy, 100 people can take a vote- 51 people can vote to put the other 49 to Death. Democracy.
