At Odds with Almost Every Public School Union Teacher in the US – CRT Stack of Stuff Part 11

by

Here is yet another example of a Teacher having a “mini meltdown” because she can’t indoctrinate “HER” kids anymore. That’s for starters. It goes downhill from there. Remember, reformatting at play and emphasis (generally) is mine:

The noise surrounding Critical Race Theory (CRT) has been getting a lot louder lately. Democrats keep paying obeisance to Karl Marx by trying to shove it down the throats of American school children. Parents who would prefer that their kids take a path that involves less communism are pushing back. It’s an ugly dance that can only end in people breaking beer bottles over each other’s heads out in the parking lot. I’m one of those freaks who thinks that parents should have some say in what their children learn and how they grow up. That puts me at odds with almost every public school union teacher in the United States.

Public school teachers have made it plain that they’re not interested in teaching kids. If they have to be in a classroom with them they want to be indoctrinating them. That’s really what public education in America has been about for decades. When I wrote “the Death of Public Education” in the headline I didn’t mean that public schools were going away, I meant that education as we once knew it is going to disappear.

And that post also had this:

Megan had a post yesterday that featured a video of a teacher who was having a mini meltdown about the fact that she’s in Texas and no longer able to force CRT on her students:

Then she goes off the deep end and claims the children of Texas as her own to indoctrinate how she sees fit and encourages teachers to join her to continue brainwashing “our kids” as she calls them. Lady, these are not your kids. They belong to their families and those families have a right not to have their kids force-fed racist ideology from political hacks posing as teachers. Stick to reading, writing, and arithmetic, Karen, and everyone will get along just fine.

BAD WORD ALERT!

Are all you parents willing to cede YOUR kids to Teachers after another example of a teacher that doesn’t care a whit how Parents feel about this! Stick to your JOB and educate, not indoctrinate!

So, how hard are you willing to fight for YOUR kids, because Teachers already believe YOUR kids are THEIR’S!

More?

That Teacher wants to turn her students into activists, but here’s another set of Teachers doing it by bribing them by bolstering their grades!

At least two teachers in Rhode Island who support the teachings of critical race theory did not receive the outcome they expected after they offered bonus points to students who chose to offer testimonies on an anti-critical race theory state House bill. According to documents gathered by Parents Defending Education (PDE), two teachers in Barrington, Rhode Island, offered five extra points to each student for their next exam if they testify by word of mouth or offer a written statement on the legislation.

…One social studies teacher, Alison Grieco, claimed that she would be unable to accurately teach “the unit on Race or Gender” should the legislation pass and “strongly urged” her students to take part….Another educator, Jennifer Bergevine, a Barrington English teacher, suggested that her students take part in providing feedback also, claiming the legislation “prohibits the teaching of ‘divisive concepts’” and prevents “making ‘any individual feel discomfort, guilty, anguish or any distress on account of their race or sex.’”

According to Parents Defending Education, “Every Barrington High School student who testified did so against the bill.”

…The documents released by the Barrington Public Schools reveals that Barrington High School teachers used classroom assignments – including earning extra credit points – to organize students in a coordinated campaign to influence legislation in Rhode Island. Their assignments were a thinly-veiled attack on the legislation. That was obvious in the email by a teacher who explicitly sought out students voices to support her testimony against the bill. This campaign by the Barrington High School teachers underscores a disturbing national trend in which school teachers, officials and administrators are exploiting their power to indoctrinate – not educate – students.

And this is called “Active Civics” and is yet another thing to watch out in your School Districts.  It’s like how the Federal Government gets the States and local entities to do its bidding – just bribe them! Go ahead – look at the “strings attached” that come with that money!

And have you run into that new phrase “Government Speech” that overrides and is protected against “civilian speech” (formerly known as Free Speech)

The Rochester Public Schools board voted unanimously Tuesday evening to make several phrases and images, including “Black Lives Matter,” government speech, meaning the school can’t be held liable for allowing those views while not allowing opposing views.

“So here with adopting the messages that you’re adopting as government speech, you’re saying these are the messages that we’re communicating as a school district and by doing that we’re not also creating a forum to allow other types of speech to enter the forum,” John Edison, the RPS board attorney said.

Translation: They’re Silencing you and telling you that only Government approved speech (coerced speech) is allowed.

By declaring certain phrases involving the Black Lives Matter movement as government speech, the board is protecting itself from legal action because it is allowing one type of speech, but not any speech in opposition to those phrases.

Yeah, they just invited a DIFFERENT kind of legal action to take place, courtesy of that dimwit lawyer John Edison. Frankly, the whole board should be sued for Constitutional malfeasance and ignorance.  This is rather outrageous that a School Board believes it has the power to override a Constitutional stricture on Government. Further, you have a lawyer that is swearing that this is legal!

And back to the self-loathing example from the Ivory Tower:

A dean at Brandeis University recently posted on social media that all white people are racist, and that criticism of critical race theory “often” serves as a “straw man” to deny the existence of systemic racism. Kate Slater, assistant dean of student affairs in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, wrote on Instagram over the weekend that “no number of statistics or facts” she could offer would convince the unwilling that (systemic) racism is a thing. Which is a little ironic considering her stated “mission” is to “facilitate an understanding of race and racism through honest and frank conversations.” All white people — including herself! — are racist, Slater contends, because so-called “whiteness” is the “norm” and “default” in society.

So think about the cost / year of sending your child there where the Administration will blithely call YOUR kid a RAAACIST! for no sentient reason at all.

And when they hit you, hit them back twice as hard (or MORE)!

A former University of Oklahoma volleyball player is filing suit after she refused to endorse social justice ideology and was removed from the team. According to a lawsuit filed on May 25, Kylee McLaughlin — a current undergraduate at the University of Oklahoma — is a “Christian and political conservative.” As the women’s volleyball team leadership “changed dramatically” by emphasizing “discussions about white privilege and social justice rather than coaching volleyball,” all members were required to “participate in these discussions” and watch a documentary entitled “13th,” according to the lawsuit. When prompted to share her thoughts on the video, McLaughlin “agreed 100%” that slavery is wrong. However, she expressed concern that the video was slanted “left” and levied unnecessary criticism against President Trump. According to the suit, she also “offered comments directly from the movie that Black incarceration was higher than other racial groups while representing a smaller overall percentage of the population.”

On June 15, members of the coaching team and all seniors in the volleyball program met via Zoom to discuss McLaughlin’s earlier comments on the documentary. Teammates accused McLaughlin of racism. Although she attempted to apologize to her classmates, members of the group did not accept the apology because it was not delivered with enough “feeling.”

…Stating that McLaughlin’s punishment was “retaliatory” because of her “engagement in First Amendment protected speech,” the lawsuit requested $75,000 in damages. The university’s equal opportunity statement affirms that the school does not “discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, gender expression, age, religion, disability, political beliefs, or status as a veteran in any of its policies, practices, or procedures.

Good for her – MAKE them live up to their own Rulebook! And, of course, the Constitutional protected Free Speech bit.

And now the US Military has decided to rehire a guy whose writings got him kicked out in leading SpecOps DIE Training (Diversity, Inclusion, Equity).

The United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) confirmed it has reinstated its chief of diversity and inclusion, Richard Torres-Estrada, following an investigation into politically charged social media posts he made, including one that compared former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler….SOCOM reassigned Torres-Estrada in late March after some of his social media posts drew attention for their anti-Trump and anti-Republican leanings. For example, on June 2, 2020, he tweeted a meme that criticized Trump by comparing a photo of him to a doctored photo of Hitler.

He added the caption: “Here I leave this and slowly retire (to continue working from home)…” The meme showed Trump holding up a bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church after Black Lives Matter protesters set fire to it, next to a photo of Hitler holding up a book. After that meme caught widespread attention, Facebook marked it “Partly False Information” because the photo of Hitler he posted was doctored.

He also posted on July 8, 2020, another anti-Trump meme with alleged quotes from his former advisers criticizing him. He added the caption, “I just have to post this.” He also posted a meme critical of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) just this year, on February 21, 2021.

Yeah, Diversity – but only

And so, time for a bit of ANTI-WOKE military humor!

So what are the kids learning in their “CRT Indoctrination Session Class”?

The proud teacher in the video, Alison Dempsey, explains how this curriculum came to be. “Racist teaching and learning” she explains, “is upholding the systems and sort of like the classroom hierarchy. Inquiry-based learning challenges that model because the children guide the learning.” She then provides an example of this new-fangled “inquiry-based learning,” which sounds a lot in practice like the Socratic method (viz. question and answer) that I used when I taught school. Here’s the opening question posed by the teacher: “What are some racial differences that you’ve noticed around you?” It’s a fairly open-ended question, but the trained seals in Dempsey’s care have been conditioned to respond with the “right” answer. (If this were a math class, of course, there would be no right answer, but that’s grist for another post.
