Chicago’s Lori Lightfoot is a lousy mayor by all accounts (regardless of her sex or skin color). A problem she’s decided means something. On the anniversary of her inauguration (two years ago), her office will only grant interviews to reporters of color.
And white is not one of them.
Maybe that’s not racist, you say, but there’s a simple test. If she was only granting interviews to white reporters, how would that play? If a white non-democrat official said they’d only give interviews to black reporters, it would play badly (pandering, virtue signaling). If a white politician (either party) said they’d only give interviews to white reporters, it would play badly. So this?

If you are the extremist left, there is no such thing as that sort of racism which is something only a racist would say, or maybe they’d say something like this.
“I ran to break up the status quo that was failing so many,” Lightfoot, who is black, tweeted, also issuing a detailed letter to City Hall reporters on her decision. “That isn’t just in City Hall. It’s a shame that in 2021, the City Hall press corps is overwhelmingly White in a city where more than half of the city identifies as Black, Latino, AAPI or Native American.”
I think it’s great that Chicago is a city of color, but it’s also a city of poverty, crime, and political corruption. If Ms. Lightfoot wanted to break up the status quo in the Windy City, she’d have to stop acting like the decades of Democrats who trapped so many people of color on urban dependency plantations in places like Chicago.
A city with a school district run by openly socialist/Marxist union agitators (including teachers) whose contributions over those same decades (including cash contributions to Democrat politicians like Lori Lightfoot) have failed to produce a press corps that reflects the cities demographics.
If your best response to that is to distance yourself from white reporters in Chicago, we can take comfort in the likelihood that they are white Democrats.
