This Was a Test. He Failed It. Miserably.

An anti-mask march has been planned for April 10th in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. I’m all for it, but Florida has been free of mandates for many months. A bastion of freedom in its own right.  So, I’m not sure what sort of message this sends and to who?

“You are invited to the Million Maskless March and Mask Burning, Saturday April 10, 2021 at 3 pm at the Corner of A1A and Las Olas in Ft Lauderdale!,” writes protest organizer Chris Nelson, who reportedly has “organized viral flash mobs at chain stores that re-popularized Twisted Sister’s protest anthem ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It.’”

He has permission, a plan, and there will be plenty of people; it is Florida in April. And I wish them success and a big turnout, but this would be a more impressive display in California or New York.

Those are the places where Americans continue to be terrorized by politicians and public-health agencies that have failed the essential test of a Constitutional Republic.

Given a taste of power, their first instinct is not just to abuse it but with blatant disregard for the limitations placed on them by State and Federal Constitutions.

This, by the way, is why we refuse to give New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu a break.

This was a test. He failed it. Miserably. As did all of his lickspittle sycophants. You put politics ahead of principle, treated your citizens like a rental car. Demonstrated without any doubt that you are incapable of being entrusted with authority.

You arbitrarily closed businesses, fined otherwise law-abiding citizens, constrained movement, killed jobs, allowed warrantless searches and seizures of property.

And what is truly disgusting is that people on the right are still making excuses for this.

Yes, a Democrat governor or legislature would be demonstrably worse, but is that the standard by which we must now measure our natural rights?

There is no excuse for sacrificing these first principles to impress the political class after we had a clear picture of what was going on, and Florida is proof enough of that.
