Self-styled-Sun-King Sununu’s pledge to veto HB 544 (which bans the use of “Critical Race Theory”) is getting more and more attention AS IT SHOULD.
As I have explained in prior posts on “Critical Race Theory,” it is “the pseudoscientific concept that all people with white skin are inherently racists and are not even aware of it because they have “internalized” their “racial superiority” and, consequently, think and act in a racist manner without even being aware of it (“unconscious bias”). It is a variation on “white privilege.”
If you believe in CRT, then you believe that a person’s race is determinative of that person’s capacities and traits. More specifically, you believe that a trait of being white is being racist and that whites lack the capacity to recognize their racism.
The irony is that believing in CRT is what is racist. The definition of a racist is someone who believes that one’s race is determinative of one’s capacities and traits, and that makes some races superior to other races. More specifically, if you believe in CRT you believe that blacks are superior to whites because blacks … unlike whites … are inherently not racist.
Whether Sununu actually believes in CRT is besides the point. CRT is a form of racism. Because Sununu supports the use of CRT in schools and elsewhere, he is supporting racism … which makes HIM, not us, the RACIST.
