Michael Regan is Biden’s pick to lead the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He is acknowledging the administration’s green energy agenda enriches China. You can’t fix stupid, as Ron White observes.
During a confirmation hearing, Regan took a question from Sen. Mike Braun regarding China’s inaction on climate change. The nominee said most of the parts used in”solar installations” are Chinese. According to Regan, this places the United States at a disadvantage in the clean energy market.
“North Carolina is now second in solar installation in the country. What we find is most of the parts we want to install come from China… We’re finding that if we don’t capture the market, we’re going to fall behind. I believe that’s the same for solar, it’s for cars.”
Regan’s admission reflects the problem. Biden says he’s pushing to create “good-paying” American jobs in the clean energy sector. His climate officials argue job gains in the industry will offset losses among fossil fuel workers.
If we are not competitive now why does it make sense to say we are going to remain competitive? America’s regulatory environment is prohibitive of that pipedream as he well knows. The way he says it is possible is by making up ground in manufacturing.
Just stop and think about the ridiculousness of that statement. How many manufacturing jobs did Obumbles grow in 8 years? Come on, how many?
Slow Joe has thought up some new secret sauce for manufacturing jobs?
China is calling what they do state capitalism. They are in fact a cluster of oligarchs. The oligarchs are a sort of public-private partnership. Mussolini had a term for it. Hitler called it something else. Whatever you call it, it leads to tyranny.
We know China is going to do things to get their industries a competitive edge. Slow Joe is helping them reap the benefits while they’re polluting the air.
American Enterprise Institute resident scholar Derek Scissors notes: China controls roughly 60% of the solar industry’s supply chain. It produces 75% of global polysilicon. Polysilicon is a key raw material in solar cell manufacturing.
“If the administration wants to greatly increase the use of solar, it faces the problem that China spends heavily to dominate world solar production. Either we’d have to rely on Chinese suppliers when ramping up solar or the administration would have to use legal means to secure the supply chain… In this sense, solar reflects the larger challenge facing ‘build back better’: The final stage of production may not be that important.” Or so says Mr. Scissors.
The Communists in control of our government plan additional action to address climate change. A group of socialist/communist lawmakers is unveiling legislation calling on Biden to declare a national climate emergency. AOC and Bernie are saying an even larger mobilization is needed.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has made the same push in recent weeks. He is stating that a national emergency declaration allows Biden to institute “many, many things under the emergency powers of the president … that he could do without legislation.”
Doesn’t that just make your heart quiver? Long live the King! We don’t need no stinking legislative branch. Send ‘em home.
