To those who claim this has practical application to us here in America, did you control for the practical and cultural differences between Germany and America? I’m betting No. Did they control for masks that are misused? I’m again betting No.
First – from the 17th through the first half of the 20th centuries, Europe generally emptied itself of all the malcontents and those who do not like authority. They mostly came here in order to be free of the authoritarian mindset in Europe.
Germany has had PSA’s, print advertising, mail to each household, and medical people since March – all to help explain how to use masks safely and correctly. Their native population is very much into following authority. Tell them to wear masks all the time, and they will. Teach them how, and they will do it properly. It’s in their DNA.
Two – Here in the US, has anyone made a concerted effort to teach Americans how to properly use masks? No. But the vaunted CDC, loaded with Democrats, runs PSAs telling us to wear them. Or to stay home. It’s not that they can’t do it, it’s that our so-called professionals do not understand Americans. Or is it that they know it is meaningless?
So go to the mall, or anywhere that people congregate, and watch the mask discipline. There won’t be any. People wear it below the nose. People are constantly touching the contaminated area. They put them down on common surfaces. They pick them up and put them on (dirty) and don’t wash their hands. They remove them by the main area instead of by the loops. How many reuse masks once removed? The masks we use are either procedure masks or t-shirt material. They are not being used properly.
Medical professionals have been trained in mask use: how to don/doff, disposal (they are biohazards once used), only use once unless meant for reuse, like an ENVO.
Three – we know the “six-foot” rule is a SWAG – because they had to come up with a number that was practical. But we know that sneeze droplets can go as far as 21 feet and can hang in the air for up to 3 hours. You sneeze in a procedure or T-Shirt mask, the main force of the droplets will go into the mask, but a huge amount will escape around the sides. They still travel and they still hang in the air. If the mask is not properly fitted, it’s worse.
- Do masks have an effect? Yes.
- Is it the magical effect the panic-porn purveyors claim they have? No.
- Is a study conducted in Germany applicable to America? Maybe. Maybe not.
Given the politics of the situation, i.e. something that shouldn’t be political now is, thanks to Democrats, I’m betting it isn’t anything close to “proof.”
And that’s the bottom line: I do not trust anything leftists or Democrats tell me. Ever. About anything.
That’s what they have sown. That’s what they will reap.
