Intervention From the Heavens

by

Just when the Washington creatures were ready to spend another $3 trillion the lights came on. We don’t need the extension of weekly central government supplements to unemployment benefits. We need to go back to work. The economic data came forth showing Americans are getting back to work in record numbers.

The $3 trillion spending bill, laced with more subsidies for unemployment, is an obstacle to recovery. It is not an aid to the recovery we now see. Subsidizing Americans to not work is a terrible strategy. All it does is keep them unemployed.

Capitalism has a uniform record of success. Socialism has a uniform record of failure. It defies logic that so many still buy into the socialist dogma. But socialist’s religion is government itself. Their belief structure resembles that of Islam, a theocracy.

Crises occur all the time. The unforeseen and the unpredictable are part of the way the world is. The way to deal with this inevitability is to keep things free. We need to let private individuals take responsibility for their own lives. This is the way to adjust, innovate, and recover.

Layering the economy with more government is the way to stifle recovery. The various indexes of measure economic freedom uniformly show; economically free countries grow and prosper. Economically restrained countries don’t.

A splash of cold water and we can wake up and shake this off

So, yes, we’re in a challenging time that’s causing a lot of stress. But, let’s not allow ourselves fall prey to the seduction of socialist delusions. Their promises are going to turn into a pocket full of mumbles. Political promises always do. Economies work when individuals in them are free.

We must be free to initiate, to innovate, to create, to work, to take personal responsibility for our own lives. There is just no other answer. It’s so seductive to believe the government can lead the way out. We all want success to be easy. We would like to believe in benevolent politicians; they will do it for us. It ain’t gonna happen. It never has and never will.

Politicians do two things. They put their hands in your pocket; they raise your taxes. This leaves you with less money to spend. They also prevent you from doing what you want to do. This prevents you from making as much as you would otherwise have made.

You cannot wait for some kind of intervention from the heavens. History shows you; politicians and government makes you poorer. Bigger government makes you poorer faster. Let’s celebrate the great economic news. Let’s use it to bolster our conviction to remain a free and thriving nation under God. Which side are you on?
