CA Green Energy Agenda Caused 50,000 Gal. of Raw Sewage to Dump into the Oakland Estuary

The left likes to claim a unique awareness of subtle shades. The many different choices between black and white and all the colors of the rainbow. Hogwash. The left only sees shades and colors when they parrot the party agenda. And there is only one shade of green, and it is just plain stupid.

California is the nation’s leader in that shade of green. The Paris Climate Accord. Electric cars. Wind and Solar. And they are welcome to the distinction. Go Federalism. But they need to accept that green absent forward-thinking means brown (outs) and black (outs). Both of which come with significant environmental risks.

In response to the recent announcement that the state will go to 100% electric cars by 2035 (our reporting on that here), EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler had some observations for Gov. Newsom.

California’s record of rolling blackouts – unprecedented in size and scope – coupled with recent requests to neighboring states for power begs the question of how you expect to run an electric car fleet that will come with significant increases in electricity demand, when you can’t even keep the lights on today. …

We asked the same question. You do not commit to using more of a resource you do not have (electricity)  and clearly cannot manage.

[T]he East Bay Municipal Utility District wastewater treatment plant experienced a power outage for nearly two hours, a pump station failure caused 50,000 gallons of raw sewage to be spilled into California’s Oakland Estuary. Also, just this month, the inability to maintain a reliable energy system led the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) to seek an emergency exemption from federal air quality standards in an attempt to maintain power.

Another example of how Democrats destroy everything they touch. And these are but two high-profile examples in a massive state.

Further demand on a dwindling resource has likely produced similar issues other parts of Newsom’s utopia or will. Actual environmental dangers, as opposed to those imaged by the Left to push their politics.

And we’re not even talking about businesses, families, and lives impacted by what looks like third-world leadership looking for another item to check on the green agenda bucket list. A goal, that, oh, by the way, is probably illegal.

“While the [executive order] seems to be mostly aspirational and on its own would accomplish very little, any attempt by the California Air Resources Board to implement sections of it may require California to request a waiver to U.S. EPA,”

Not something they will get from this Administration, but I hear there’s an election coming up. If Californians are ready for the deep end of third worldliness, this is their opportunity. If not, they should probably vote for Trump.
