Personal Endorsement: Karen Testerman for Governor

by

Chalk me up as supporting Karen Testerman for Governor. Seems like I have known her forever. Lots of people run for office. I meet them every election cycle. Some are for real many just show up out of nowhere and ask for your support.

Karen Testerman always put in the hard work.

Every time something important to taxpayers in our State came up that I can remember – Karen was on the right side of it.

Example: Karen drafted a State Supreme Court Case to prevent school superintendents from hiding their school’s SPEDIS numbers which were designed to attach an anonymous number to each special education student. This number would let taxpayers see how many of these students were in each school and how long they were there. Special education is where some inventive superintendents hid money in school budgets, millions of it.

Only Karen would take on a task like this because our courts favor government schools in such cases. The court, in spite of the numbers created to be public, said the numbers were not public. Typical. Karen Testerman was right. She stood her ground for taxpayers.

If I were to describe Karen another way, simply read our State Constitution:

[Art.] 38. [Social Virtues Inculcated.] A frequent recurrence to the fundamental principles of the constitution, and a constant adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, industry, frugality, and all the social virtues, are indispensably necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty and good government; the people ought, therefore, to have a particular regard to all those principles in the choice of their officers and representatives, and they have a right to require of their lawgivers and magistrates, an exact and constant observance of them, in the formation and execution of the laws necessary for the good administration of government.

June 2, 1784

That is Karen Testerman to a tee. Not many politicians have the will to follow our State’s handbook.

Karen Testerman does.
