The reporting from Portland now says the months-long civil unrest is spreading. The rioters are spilling into residential neighborhoods, targeting people inside their own homes.

The city has been experiencing nightly protests and riots since May. No sane person believes the George Floyd incident in Minneapolis is the cause. That’s ridiculous. Up to now most of the protests were remaining in the city’s downtown core. This is Antifa/BLM/Anarchists.
Quoting demonstrators in a video on Twitter Andy Ngo wrote,
“‘We’re gonna burn your building down.’ ‘We know where you live. As #antifa have taken to Portland residential areas to riot, they’ve also assaulted & intimidated residents there. Tonight, they threatened those who looked out the window,”

The video shows a crowd of demonstrators apparently threatening people. The people are inside a multistory residential building. Some residents looked out of windows and were stunned by flashlights. One man off-camera on the video yelled about “capitalism,” while another man could be heard yelling, “We’re gonna burn your building down!” The people in the video appeared to be sitting peacefully inside of their homes. This is a chaotic situation.
This “peaceful protest” began at Peninsula Park in the city’s Piedmont neighborhood. That’s about four miles north of downtown. Police described the group, which numbered in the hundreds, as “peaceful.” Remember all adjectives are subjective, by definition. Officers said the situation deteriorated as the activists marched west. They moved toward the Portland Police Association building near the park.
A riot declaration came from the police before midnight.
Police in Portland later put out a news bulletin outlining the activities of Saturday’s demonstrations. The bulletin said,
“By 10:30 p.m., the large group reached the PPA office. As the group approached, Portland Police began making public address announcements informing the crowd they were to not to engage in criminal activities.”
“People within the crowd committed crimes when they erected a fence, pushed dumpsters into the street to block traffic, set a dumpster on fire, vandalized the PPA office with spray paint, and destroyed security cameras…”
Apparently peaceful protest plus arson equals a riot

Police also said rioters threw glass bottles and paint balloons at officers. They also assaulted them with laser pointers. Three officers were injured. Two of them were treated and released by a local hospital. The rioters also tore down a barricade protecting the police union building and set a fire inside. Nine arrests were made during the riot. The riot continued into Sunday morning according to police.
Sowersby shared video of the fire reported inside the Portland Police Association building.
“Personnel from Portland Fire and Rescue were able to gain access to the location. They were able to extinguish the fire inside the PPA Office…” police said.
Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose… Peaceful protestors? Own anything you care about? Have anyone dear to you? Are you ready to protect what’s yours? Marxists believe nothing belongs to you. Everything belongs to the collective. It should concern you when mob rule moves to the suburbs.
