No, I refuse to pay money to Twitter if they go to a subscription model

It was bad enough that they put GraniteGrok into a year’s long Catch-22 Twitter Jail for whatever reason some SJW there thought. I couldn’t get a straight answer out of them at all.

Plus, while Steve shares our posts out there (and gathers some intel along the way), I only use it, albeit seldomly, to make a retort to some Progressive that is acting badly.  But this would be a tipping point (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Twitter says it’s looking at subscription options as ad revenue drops sharply

Twitter (TWTR) is actively exploring additional ways to make money from its users, including by considering a subscription model, CEO Jack Dorsey said Thursday. The move comes as Twitter suffers a sharp decline in its core advertising business. “You will likely see some tests this year” of various approaches, Dorsey told analysts on an investor call held to discuss the company’s second quarter earnings results. Dorsey said he has “a really high bar for when we would ask consumers to pay for aspects of Twitter,” but confirmed that the company is seeking to diversify its sources of revenue in what are “very, very early phases of exploring.”

Yeah, that’s because a whole host of “civil rights” groups (who, if you look at the names, know that they are Left to Far Left groups seeking to further suppress Conservative speech and ideas as “hate” speech) have decided they didn’t like folks like us to use it. So, like what they are also doing to Facebook, they have organized to get big companies to no longer advertise with Twitter and FP.

Earlier this month, rumors flared about a paid Twitter option after the company posted a job opening focused on building a subscription platform codenamed “Gryphon.” ……Twitter’s growth plans are under close scrutiny as many advertisers pull back due to the pandemic. On Thursday, Twitter reported second-quarter ad revenues of $562 million, a 23% decrease compared to the same quarter a year ago. The company has also been hit by advertisers participating in an ad boycott of social media, linked to the nationwide racial justice protests. But Twitter executives declined to say how much of an impact the boycott has had on Twitter’s business.

While Steve runs the Social Media side of GraniteGrok and would know better, I do know he’s moving us to the Free Speech equivalent of Twitter and FB as we both agree that those two platforms are squeezing Conservatives off. Well, Free Markets will always have a way to fill market vacuums and this is not different. WeMe, Gab, Parler, and a bunch of others are reporting record growth as Conservatives and Libertarians are tired of being Silenced and Cancelled and have moved over.

At some point, there will be a tipping point at which there will be a complete split – Socialists on one set of platforms as we Free Speech folks on another set. And never the twain shall meet because I REFUSE to pay to be on a platform that hates our ideals and our speech. Ain’t gonna happen.

Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom and how the Government is taking that away. As an evangelical Christian and Conservative with small "L" libertarian leanings, my fight is with Progressives forcing a collectivized, secular humanistic future upon us. As a TEA Party activist, citizen journalist, and pundit!, my goal is to use the New Media to advance the radical notions of America's Founders back into our culture.
