Campaign season has been rough this year and who knows what the next three months are going to bring for candidates. Will there be a quick second wave of the Wu Flu and Governor Sununu locks everything down again?

Will people not respond to door knocking? Who listens to robocalls anymore? Or the staged “town halls” where questions are either manufactured or carefully curated (like do you think *I* would be able to get a question in while on a Pappas or Shaheen town hall (and yes, we’ve been called for such)?)?
Let’s be either real, cynical, or snarky – how many folks actually 1) read the VOLUMES of snail mail that going to be starting to clog mailboxes, and 2) actually take action on them other than a quick flip into the trashcan. Facebook will be largely due to its targeting.
So ANY outside event will gather candidates like kids to an ice cream truck on a hot summer day. After all, events like this are where the voters will be and the influencers that will talk to friends, neighbors, and family with “Guess who I bumped into today”. Here in NH, retail politics just doesn’t happen, it is expected. And so, we were able to do a few MicroInterviews to start breaking the political ice for us this season.
First up and before the Rally actually started was Karen Testerman. A long term fiscal and social conservative, she’s no stranger to elective office and this season, she has already declared that she will primary NH Governor Sununu on the Republican side especially after the decisions that have been made during this Government caused economic disaster:
Note: NOT ONE Democrat elected official of any note, nor Democrat candidate, attended the event that I saw. If anyone did, other than Judy Ferstenberg who spoke (who is on the Planning Board in Peterborough). Is this political cowardice (having to be seen “in thrall” to Black Lives Matter) or do they really just hate our Police Force?
