So Manchester’s Mayor was on twitter today:
What I saw in Minnesota was a depraved and sadistic police officer kill a man while several other police officers aided or permitted it. I have no idea whether any of the officers involved were motivated by racial animus. I assume the State Attorney General and the U.S. Department of Justice will investigate and, if there was racial animus involved, that the appropriate civil rights charges will follow.
What I do know is that there is no “systemic racism” among the nation’s police in particular or among municipal employees in general. It’s behind a paywall, but Heather MacDonald uses facts to demolish the claim of “systemic racism”:
The officers who arrested George Floyd must be held accountable for their excessive use of force and callous indifference to his distress.
But the charge of systemic police bias was wrong during the Obama years and it remains so today.

So, if Mayor Joyce were really concerned about addressing what we saw in Minnesota she would be looking into whether there are similar bad police officers in Manchester and getting rid of such police officers.
Instead, she’s giving Black Lives Matter a voice in city governance. From the aforementioned Heather MacDonald on Black Lives Matter in 2016:
This from 2017:
Black Lives Matter has been pushing a false narrative about “systemic racism” since at least the Obama years. And now Mayor Joyce has given them a formal voice in the governance of Manchester’s largest city. Shame on her.
But that’s not all. Per her tweets, Mayor Joyce is also ordering “diversity and cultural competency training for all city employees.” What this training is in reality is Soviet-style indoctrination about all whites … even the poorest and most downtrodden … benefiting from “white privilege,” while all blacks … even the most affluent and prosperous … are victims. It teaches the city employees to see and deal with people on the basis of their skin color, and does NOTHING to address the problem we saw in Minnesota – depraved and sadistic police officers who have no business being police officers.
Shame on Joyce Craig.
