The ACLU of New Hampshire is campaigning against HB 1251, which would ban men from women’s public school sports. Read more about the bill here and here.
The ACLU conscripted gender-confused children to testify against the bill in the public committee hearings. They are holding events in Concord and Somersworth for writing postcards to legislators, asking them to vote against HB 1251, and they are organizing protesters to stand outside the House Education Committee’s next executive session in opposition to HB 1251.
The ACLU-NH claims that men who identify as women need to participate in women’s sports to achieve “better grades, greater homework completion, higher educational and occupational aspirations, and improved self-esteem.” They assert it is offensive to “define participation in female student sports by the student’s internal and external reproductive anatomy, naturally occurring level of testosterone, or an analysis of the student’s chromosomes.” They say “Sweeping bills that purport to determine a person’s sex by documenting the person’s chromosomes and reproductive anatomy raise serious privacy concerns and are discriminatory, plain and simple.” They claim that men having the ability to complete in women’s sports is a civil right. The ACLU-NH has lost its mission and their minds.
Join us on Wednesday, February 26, as we stand outside Room 207 in the NH Legislative Office Building, starting at 9:15 am, holding signs in support of protecting women’s sports. The House Education Committee executive session starts at 10 am and the committee will be discussing and voting on HB 1251, as well as other bills.
