NH Democrat Pretends to Care About Your Tax Burden – Must Have Forgot About Her Voting Record

Rosie Rung1

Who would have ever thought that left-wing Merrimack Democrat Rosemarie Rung, would claim to be a tax fighter? A defender of your hard-earned dollar. An advocate for property rights of New Hampshire taxpayers.

Rosemarie Rung Education funding tax credits

It’s a shell game but not the one that Rung is selling.

In the absence of government and taxes, people can still create wealth or value. They can agree to coordinate resources, pay third parties to build roads, teach children, put out fires, patrol the streets, fight our enemies, or perform any service.

Letting someone keep some of the money they legally earned to direct at any other activity is not a burden on anyone else, ever, unless you are convinced they don’t deserve it or that their labors are not their own.

That they didn’t build that.

It’s the not-so-old left-wing socialist mantra, but it’s a lie. In the absence of other people’s productivity or wealth creation, there is nothing for the government to take. It can do nothing — not one thing. It cannot even exist.

So, Rung’s remark has nothing to do with defending taxpayers and everything to do with controlling resources for political gain.

The government monopoly on education long ago stopped working to educate future generations for our mutual benefit. It exists to forcibly launder tax dollars through unions to Democrats while training your children to become good citizens of their Reich.

From curriculum to cultural reprogramming, everything under that roof pushes students to the left. It is in the best interests of Democrats like Rung to oppose any program that diverts children or resources away from that purpose.

A Tax Credit by Any Other Name…

We know this is true because nowhere else in the political universe do the Rosemarie Rungs of the world defend taxpayers from tax credits.

HB270 “establishes a tax credit against the business profits tax for donations to career and technical education centers.” It passed with broad bipartisan support I don’t recall Rosemarie Rung or any Democrat raising concerns about taxpayers having to cover that credit.

If you search the vast library of tax credits, state or federal, tax-fighter Rosemarie Run is nowhere to be found unless they act against her political priorities.

Her voting record on taxes is proof of that.

  • VOTED TO INCREASE SPENDING 13%, RAISE TAXES BY $400 MILLION, AND CREATE A MASSIVE DEFICIT AT THE END OF THE TWO YEAR BUDGET (HB1)
  • VOTED FOR A STATE INCOME TAX (HB 712)
  • VOTED TO FORCE BUSINESSES TO PAY AN UNSUSTAINABLE STATE MINIMUM WAGE (HB186)
  • VOTED TO RAISE TAXES ON NEW HAMPSHIRE EMPLOYERS. (HB623)
  • VOTED FOR A DEVASTATING CAPITAL GAINS TAX. (HB686)
  • VOTED AGAINST BANNING A STATE INCOME TAX (CACR12)
  • VOTED FOR A DISASTROUS INCOME TAX (SB1)
  • VOTED TO ESTABLISH LOCAL TAXES ON HOTELS AND ROOM RENTALS (HB641)
  • VOTED FOR OVER 20 NEW OR INCREASED FEES (HB682)

Rosemarie Rung doesn’t care one bit about the fiscal burdens placed on New Hampshire Taxpayers unless by that we mean the perennial need to increase them.

As for the education tax credit, she’s not just wrong about whose money it is; she is wrong about the burden placed on other taxpayers.

If there is no student to teach, there is no cost to teach them. And while the state does not send any money to the district for that student, neither does the School district lower its budget due to the absence of the student.

You’d think a tax fighter like Rosie Rung would be all over that, but she’s not.
