The name of Elizabeth Warren’s latest proposal is ‘Empowering American Workers and Raising Wages’. Media outlets are largely not reporting on the release.
They are also mostly not covering the contents of the proposal. Sen. Warren is currently the leading 2020 Democratic presidential candidate.
Workers of the world unite
Warren is pledging to “fight” for illegal immigrants to be given back pay. Who do you think is going to have to come up with money for doing that? Lieawatha take your hand out of my pocket. Many Americans may not realize this point.
This “detail” in her proposal is going unreported by the mainstream media for a reason. Are they really ignorant of the plan’s content? Or are they complicit in covering up the proposal? The Warren plan declares; illegal immigrants will be eligible to receive back pay.
They are to be paid for work they did in the United States previously. The socialist senator says she intends to make this happen, if you can believe her. To accomplish this she would amend the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). Warren explained it in a post on Medium.
Lieawatha explains
She said her plan includes ensuring employers can’t exploit undocumented workers. How does Lieawatha know they are undocumented? How do you determine how much back pay someone might be due? The socialist creates a straw man.
She asserts exploitation of unnamed people. Warren claims oppression of unknown numbers. She claims these wrongs are driving down standards for all workers. Those would be facts not in evidence. Still, Lieawatha pledges to “fight” for illegal immigrants to be given back pay. She does not know the cost. She does not consider the impacts.
Lieawatha wrote. “The 2002 Supreme Court case Hoffman Plastic Compounds v. NLRB held that an undocumented worker could not receive the back pay he was owed from an employer who had violated the NLRA… That 5–4 ruling is wrong and denies millions of undocumented workers redress for illegal firings or other retaliatory conduct by an employer…. The case encourages employers to hire undocumented immigrants and exploit them in numerous fields, including construction and manufacturing, which could lower wages for all workers… I will fight to amend the NLRA to end this form of exploitation and ensure that all workers are protected.” Fight on comrades, the constitution and our body of law is wrong; social justice for all. And I alone will determine who needs what and from whom those needs will be taken.
What about Americans?
Warren’s plan does not include punishments for businesses or employers who choose to hire illegals. Why is that? If she has a plan to deal with the problem she must know who is violating current law. Why has she done nothing about it as a Senator? Lieawatha’s plan does not even address the issue when they do so in preference to American citizens who are ready and willing to work. Why is that? She wants open borders. If she wants to be president and there are no borders what exactly is she president of?
Warren’s American Workers proposal also lacks any reform to the H-1B visa program. When we issue H-1B visas it is to replace Americans with foreign visa workers. This program increases the profits of multinational corporations. But Lieawatha has not endorsed mandatory E-Verify. E-verify is a system preventing businesses from hiring illegal aliens over Americans. It would decrease foreign competition against Americans.
Every American citizen should arm himself or herself with information. It is important to increase awareness about the subject. It can be done by reading Warren’s proposal in full in her Medium post. Another source is to go directly to her white paper on the proposal. Elizabeth Warren’s Workers Plan reaches into the average American’s pocket but doesn’t protect them.
The plan is an example of the hard left turn the Democratic Party has taken. Socialists such as Warren apparently care about helping illegal immigrants. They do not give a rat’s backside about improving the lives of current, hardworking and law-abiding American citizens. Warren is doing everything in her power to try to put more cash in the pockets of unlawful immigrants.
Are there others more interested in the average American?
There are people focusing on getting more jobs for the American people. A lot of that has been happening in the last three years. The recent Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report said that in September of 2019 alone, 136,000 new jobs came available. That is 6,000 more additions than the previous month. The unemployment rate also hit a new 50-year low at 3.5 percent in September.
The number of new jobs fell short of the 145,000 jobs that the Labor Department had expected. But the steady and low unemployment numbers indicate a strong American economy. The unemployment number is now at the lowest point since 1969. That 50-year low is astounding.
Conclusion
Trump’s “Buy American, Hire American” agenda stands in stark contrast with the socialist Warren’s proposal. Trump has focused on delivering wage hikes for the average America. Comparing Trump and Warren on this issue it’s clear only one of them cares about helping Americans. That choice is pretty obvious. Elizabeth Warren’s Workers Plan takes care of everybody but the average American.
