“Businessman” Tom Steyer has recently changed his ads. He’s touting his business experience without bashing Trump so much. But how smart is he? He’s spent 47.6 million so far, and all he’s got to show for it is a 1.4 RCP Poll avg., and 7 Minutes of debate time.

I didn’t make tens of billions of dollars’ worth of wealth for myself (on dirty coal) like Hedge Manager Tom Steyer, but I have a bit of business sense. The ROI on that is terrible.
Billionaire presidential hopeful Tom Steyer spent $6.5 million for each minute of speaking time he received during Tuesday’s Democratic debate.
Mr. Steyer could buy the world a coke, but instead, he’s bought himself lower polling numbers than Yang and Klobuchar.
All so his fellow leftists can take shots at him.
“The Best Campaign Money Can Buy,” an Atlantic headline read.
“Tom Steyer has a surprising platform for a billionaire candidate who made his money gobbling up companies: denouncing ‘the corporate takeover of our democracy,'” the L.A. Times wrote.
“I am a bit tired of seeing billionaires trying to buy political power,” Vermont senator Bernie Sanders (I.) tweeted in July.
Let me take a moment to bring Bernie out to the woodshed because Steyer has the high ground here. Whatever you may think of him, Tom is buying political power with his own money (at least for now) which was (presumably) earned legally. Bernie has spent his entire life, making it legal for him to buy his political power with your money.
Which brings me to one more point. The political class that has so screwed over America that they elected Donald Trump is on an endless campaign to remove him. Steyer has also spent millions on an impeachment agenda (with infomercial) since Trump was elected. I have a sense of what it is the Democrats, and deep staters are trying to hide and protect. Steyer’s a Democrat, but investing your fortune in the exercise suggests he’s got something to hide as well.
I’m just curious about what it might be? Or, if anyone in the next debate thinks it is even worth their time to bring that up.
I don’t think they will. He’s rich and annoying and can buy up votes and elections, but winning the Democrat Party nomination takes something more, and rich white Democrats are a dime a dozen.
